Panasonic ST30 Owners Thread

Jumbo is not having any of ST30 now. Also, what you got was a demo set confirmed to me by salesman yesterday only. If you were the one who bought is last one week or 10 days...lcdguy had PM me about it

Well i bought it exactly a month ago, so not sure whether he was talking about me or some other guy. I have no problem with the TV so no hard feelings even if it was me who got sucked in the deal.
 
Hey all, I'm having trouble getting my P50ST30 connected with my PC via HDMI. The connection works however the picture is slightly zoomed in, causing most of the start menu to be cut off as well as the tops of application windows. I checked the format on the TV trying various settings and nothing fixed this. I also verified I'm outputting at 1920x1080. Any clue what I'm doing wrong? Please help!

I am confused between ST30 and ST50.
1. What real world difference in performance between the two (for day today viewing, merely not on paper)?
2.What is the best price for them?
3. I was given following quote at Solapur-----73k and 88k resp.
4. Is it best time to purchase or should I wait till diwali for good offers?

I had the same issue. The culprit is the Advanced picture setting 16:9 Overscan. Turn it OFF.
 
I have not completed break in period (200 hrs) of my ST30. I have couple of issues:

1. I was given only one year warranty card(With 4 service coupons one already taken by installation guy by the time of installation).

How to get extended 3 year warranty ?

2. My 1TB NTFS formatted Free Agent Go flex is detected but not playing videos. TV takes ages to read files and reboots.It's a pain to copy each movie to pen drive and watch. That too some of MKV and MP4 formats are played without sound.

3. Above all there is power cut in my home town almost 16 hours per day , thanks to our ****ing Tamilnadu government. Is itpossible to run this TV(Rated power is 300W) with 800VA inverter with 135Ah battery?
 
My 11 month old 42st30 has developed an issue. Im not sure what this fault is called, will try to describe it.

About two inches from the left edge there is a vertical line running from top to bottom. It is one pixel wide and the color looks inverted. It prominently shows on the OSD (blue) as a red line. Stays on for all inputs, just changes color.

Have called Panasonic and was refered to their Service centre in Mumbai (Atharva electronics). Three technicians have visited so far.
First tech guy - Immediately on noticing the fault, said it cant be repaired and that the set will have to be replaced.
Second tech guy - Came with a broken panasonic lumix digicam and took about 20 to 30 pics of the screen and the insides of the set. He said only the plasma panel will be replaced.
Third tech guy - This one came to click some more pics. He said the previously sent pictures have come back. I think the Hours count was missing. Again he was of the opinion that the entire set would be replaced.

Have been a very satisfied owner since the last 11 months, hope this fault gets repaired or the set is replaced ASAP.

Have two questions if anyone has any idea about it:

1. If Panasonic finally decides to replace the set, wonder if they would agree to upgrade to a larger size? (I am ready to pay the difference)

2. Also if 42ST30 is not availabile in stock whether they would replace it with a 42ST50? :-)

Getting a bit greedy here, however Im more than ready to pay the difference.

BTW - The Hours count is ~ 1500

Kingfisher I've owned my set for about 11 months now.
1. I had received a 1+2 year warranty card. But it was mentioned that the offer was only till the festival season. Did the dealer promise you a 3 year warranty before buying OR did you see it being advertised in the media?
2. I faced the same issue with my 250GB HDD. Guess thats the way it is. I've been using the pen drive method. And I use my laptop via HDMI for the formats that dont play or just play the video.
Tried connecting the ST30 using DLNA via LAN cable and running SERVIIO on the laptop but again all formats are not played. Reverted back to pen drive and laptop via HDMI methods.
3.Well cant help you much here. 16hrs is pretty bad. However while doing reasearch online about the ST30 power consumption I have seen it being reported around 150W. Guess 300W is peak.
 
I thought they were giving 3 year warranty as a standard. Don't know when they changed the policy and reverted to 1 year. Do call customer service and check.

Did you get a huge discount on the set? In that case the dealer could have shown that the customer declined extended warranty for a discount at the time of purchase and quoted you a lower price.

I have been a proud owner of 42ST30 for almost 6 months now,
I really dont get time to watch much but when ever i do i enjoy it to the fullest
Recently i was watching Frozen planet 1080p through WDTV Live and notice few fast moving scences to be very uncomfortable to my eye.. it was like a slight fliker in some parts of screen, is there something wrong with the settings?
can any senior member please help me with this...

Yes its possible - talk to Panasonic and they might refer you to a dealer.

Yes they will - however a good chance that they might just replace the panel and return the set to you (in case they have panel available and it solves the issue).

Thanks Zed. I called panasonic helpline no 1800 103 1333 and was told to send them my copy of Invoice and Warranty card to their Guindy office and they will send me the 3 yrs extended warranty.
 
How to change panel brightness in st30

Hi.i hav read about mid panel or low panel brightness..I cannot find it on plasma...is it a part of service menu...
