I just wanted to avoid connecting a media player also. I am not a big movie buff, accept for 3D, i will be mainly playing games in PS3 and would like the output from both VT20 and PS3 to Sony home theater.
Hi Guys,
After reading so much about VT20, looks like there is a serious rising & floating black issue with all 2010 models.
It is still unresolved and looks like i will have to wait for VT30 launch in India.
Can members elaborate on this further, how bad are these issues.
Also I looked at 50 ST30 models, they have the lightest filter in the glass panel and ends up reflecting more ambient light than VT20, also it does not have as dark of black level than the VT20.
Can members from ST30 and VT20 suggest how serious these issues are? Is it really worth spending the bucks on any of these models?
As such Panasonic is not much bothered about 2010 models, that leaves only ST30 as a choice or wait for launch of 2011 models in India.
I know I would be shelling out more for any latest releases, but i am not left with many options.
You guys suggestion would be highly appreciated.

Wait for Panasonic 2012 models i.e the ST50, VT50 etc .... :licklips:
Panasonic India might launch them late 2013 after it has become obsolete in the rest of the world and charge you twice the price than the rest of the world :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
If you ask me just buy the Samsung 51D550 Best vfm 3d
he already said that he's a little bothered by reflection even on the ST30, so would sammy register on his mind as a good choice ? hmmmm....may be, or may be not if he sees in person. otherwise capt., the 51D550 would really be a very good choice too.
IMO you shouldnt bother about that floating blacks thing much, even more so since you dont happen to be a videophile. i could notice only one instance of it on my set once while playing god of war 3, that too for a fraction of a second, but really not bothersome to me. apart from that, this TV amazes me with every movie i watch on it. check the link given below. 'blasto' echoes a similar thought. you could PM him for more details :

and if you are ready to shell out something to the tune of 1.3-1.5L for the 50VT30 then go ahead. or if you are ready till diwali/jan 2013 for the prices of it to come down (even at that time you would get confused between the VT30 and the VT50, which stands announced now ), then better wait
well, take a hard port or hard stbd now hyeah:

Croma guys are playing hard balls with me, any suggestions/other place I can get a VT20, what price/freebies one should expect. Also can you clarify on Panasonic guarantee, Croma is giving one year guarantee only and asking for addl 5000 bucks for extended 3 years.
Their best offer is 65K+1year guarantee+1 glass+1 wireless keyboard+some 2D movies which I am not interested in.
I have asked for 65K+3year guarantee+2 glasses+1 wireless keyboard+two 3D movies
What you guys have to say, I believe three years Panasonic guarantee should come automatically unless they have a Demo piece in hand. There is no way to confirm that the set running hrs are not tempered with.

Also I need to know if any HDMI cables come along with the set. One should be a standard supply.
Thanks Mate,
Please go ahead on my behalf.
What do you have to suggest abt the offer from Croma, they were offering the same set for 70K just a couple of days back with a Samsung HT worth 7K.

If it is a fresh set than should i go for it? Debatable???
Cheers
