Penny 50 vt 20 group deal mumbai

Is 66k good price for this with 1 year warranty? I am offered 69 for 1+2 year warranty.

this from croma ?

i think this is good, but pls insist on an extra pair of glasses too. but i also think these people are creating much confusion about the warranty-thing, and the extra price connected with it. wait till night. i would post the ph. no. of a manager from panasonic here. anyone with queries on the subject of warranty could talk to him straight. we would then be able to know whether croma is taking us for a ride, or indeed WE need to get our facts straight.

From croma thane. No glasses. When I was negotiating, another guy came and picked it up at tag price. I had to come to another store for this. Last offer was 5% discount on tag, so took it.

Why the extra 2K for extended warranty. Croma must be selling you their in-house warranty for the extra 2 years. Get clarity on this.

Anyhow, the 3 year wty is given by Panasonic and Croma has no say in this. Even if they do not arrange for the appropriate warranty card, it is not a problem. An email to Panasonic's customer services is enough to get you the documentation etc.

One glass comes with the TV itself. Check out.
Did you get it with 2 year extended warranty or no?

2k for 2 year extended warrenty is good (LG charges like 15k).
Once seeker clears mist around the warrenty part, go ahead and get hte extended warrenty if 3 years is not by default.

I was not given any glasses. Sometime back got 2 mails, one for TV and other for a pair of glasses.
Called croma Tollfree and put-up a complaint.

That is very wrong.
It should be present inside the TV box. You should check.
If not, it is a used/display piece for sure.
Check the usage hours if you are not aware while buying that it is a demo piece.

Blasto is correct. check the box once again pls. if it doesnt have the glasses (should be there in a plastic box) then surely its a used piece. its somewhat unbelievable and very annoying to learn that croma is stooping down to such tactics, that too the same store from which i had bought my TV with no such complaints :mad:

pls check the usage hours ASAP and also keep us informed. and dont think twice in escalating the matter with panasonic as well as croma higher-ups. i should stop here now otherwise my next lines are going to be full of profanities for these market-leeches !

It is a display piece. He said was put just a month back approximately, that's why the discount.but should I not get the glasses

One glass is a standard suppy, which should come along with the set. The standard supply consists of a screw driver also which can be used to replace the battery in the glass.

After a few mails here and there got call from the stores, he is sending the installation guy and glasses.

3 years extended guarantee is still an issue, I have enquired from 3 different Panasonic dealers and all say that 2years extended warranty is applicable for any panel defects only. All parts/board replacements, technician visit charges for the set itself will be towards owners account.
Members have yet to clarify this issue.

Croma guy said everything as in first year is there in the extended offer they are giving. Have to get it confirmed from reliable source.

I have read about members discussing about getting an equivalent specs set like VT30, even VT50 etc in case of any issues with VT 20 but I dont think that will be possible once one year warranty is lapsed.

Any comments???

Which is the best HD provider in Mumbai???

:o:o:o
As per various inputs from different sources below is my conclusion:

Airtel vs. Videocon vs. Tata Sky

Ranking as per the descending order:

3) Tata sky Inferior picture quality, less no of HD chs Compare to Airtel and Videocon.
2) Videocon More no of HD chs but no 5.1 surround audio.

1) Airtel best HD provider Debatable??.
Refer below thread from fellow member Naveen ST30 owner WRT to Airtel logo burning/IR issue.

http://www.hifivision.com/televisio...owners-thread-15.html?nojs=1#goto_threadtools

Please suggest how bad it is? I believe it temporary and gets smudged over a period of time.
Is Airtel still advisable for long term use with VT20?
I believe all service providers have reduced the brightness of respective logos after reported burning issues with at least 3 Plasma sets.:mad::mad:

Fellow members input would be highly appreciated.

cant tell much about airtel, as am not using it, but have read that their CC service isnt good. am using tata sky, and the PQ seems very good (in the light of the fact that i havent compared it to airtel or videocon's PQ). CC service is near-excellent - responsive and prompt ! but then am one of their customers since 3-4 years :D

pls note that you would find traces of IR in the VT20, and probably the ST30 too, but those are just momentary, and fade away quickly. as far as i can tell, my TV didnt have any problems due to the 'tata sky' logo till now. hope that helps....

My VT20 has crossed 360 hours as on date...and i recently had my first experience with IR on the set. It was the "Star movies HD" logo and the "movie name" which preceeds the logo which got retained. Movie was Planet of the apes.... I had recently started watching TV in 16:9 mode....

The IR was really bad .........had to play 3d movie back to back and couple of hours of D-nice slides to get it out.

Tata sky logo hasnt created a problem so far. But beware of the Star & discovery HD logos. Safest is the NG one which is also slightly translucent like tata sky....if you are watching in 16:9 mode

May be this information has been already posted on this thread, but just to re assure. visited the Panasonic brand shop at Mulund, Mumbai yesterday and the sales guy confirmed that the whole unit will have 1 yr warranty and the extra 2 yrs warranty is for the panel only.

By they way he didn't have the stock or prices of VT20. he has stock and prices as below:

50ST30D- INR 113900
50V20 - INR 96500
50VT30 - price being updated.!

cheers

He is stating you the mrp.
Market prices are 85k, 63k and 70k (50VT20) respectively.

50VT30 is a 2011 model which is in phase out state elsewhere. Don't know the reasoning of releasing it here NOW.

its been days since am noticing IR on the set. my grandparents are glued to 'aastha' channel when i come back home, and after its switched OFF, i can see the logo of the channel clearly on the screen. moreover, am able to clearly see the traces of menu and GUI of my media player, even if it remains ON for 20-25 mins and then is switched OFF. but all those traces disappear within moments. dont know if this is an issue to worry about.

My set crossed 200 + hr, till today i used to watch in stretched mode with slides sometimes. I thought of viewing it normal, after seeing your experience i have to rethink. How long I can continue like this?
