Pic Of your Blu ray Collection or Dvd Collection

Akd - Congrats.. have you seen all the movies? Ayway hope you will reach the 2nd ton soon enough, as now lot many new BDs are being released..

kix .. Few queries

1. do you get a mail or something from Amazon?
2. How long from delivery they deposits the amount?
3. Whether they charge it back to the credit card or it is there as account credit with Amazon. If they charges back to credit card, in my case there might be an issue, as the original card that was used had been replaced with a new one. I don't know whether the refund is possible by charge back to the card :(

1. Amazon did one refund on their own, while for the rest I had to remind them via email using "Contact us" link button.
2. Refund is in progress and it takes 2-3 days to reflect on credit card.
3. Refund is to the credit card. So in your case, there may be some issue. Check with bank what happens.

Second that. The replacement shipments I got were shipped this way too. I wasn't charged customs though, but that was just luck and the particular post office that processed the inbound shipments.

To the OP, I'd suggest waiting a bit more. One tends to watch the first shipment like a hawk. After a while you just order and forget about it until the BD's show up at your door.

Thanks for the inputs, I finally mailed them back today to process the refund amount.

Got a reply almost immediately stating that the refund is processed and will reflect in my card within 1 or 2 days.

Now I have placed a new order "The Sylvester Stallone Collection [Blu-ray][Region Free] collection" alone[Now there are very few options in the 3 BR disc for 17 category) and have given my office address.

This will be dispatched tomorrow and let me see atleast this reaches me without any issues.

60 days after delivey date (actual date of delivery to your door). Meanwhile (important!):

1. Keep a record of orders and the actual tracking number of Aramex (or other carrier service) tracking number.
2. Using the tracking number, call their customer care and check whether duty was paid or not.
3. If duty was paid, ask them to send the receipt copy.
4. If duty was not paid, raise a refund request with Amazon.

Hi I see a lot of you FM's ordering from Amazon. Do they deliver BD's in India? I normally have to rely on someone coming from UK or US to get my discs. Also, if they do, how much is the import duty on the same? Cheers.

From US Approx 30% extra for Shipping and 30% more on Invoice + Shipping. So you can safely assume around 60% additional.

UK does not charge import fees deposit at the time of placing order, they charges only shipping.

Asking someone to bring the discs from US/UK is the best option. Although, there is sales tax sometimes charged (typically 7%), but if the person in US procures from Amazon, in US, there are no shipping charges. Shipping charges are a real killer and account to roughly 25~45% of the order cost. Shipping outside US from Amazon costs $3.99 per SKU (item) plus $4.99 for the complete delivery package. Assume that you are ordering 6 BDs with an average cost of $15. So basic cost is $90 while shipping cost (to India) is $28.93 (6 x 3.99 + 4.99). On top of that, Amazon will charge 26% on base cost + shipping as "Import Fees Deposit".

If someone brings BDs in the baggage there is no customs duty as long as there is no excess in that respect (I would call excess as one bag full of BDs/DVDs only). I have often brought 20~30 discs along with me and did not have to pay any duty. Of late, when some friend comes over, I request him to bring some along (usually 12 to 15).

Last week's shipment.

Great collection Soamz !!
All the English movies are really good to have.
My favourites... specially 'Saving Private Ryan', 'Fight CLub' and 'The Departed'.

English Vinglish is really a very sweet movie. I loved it when I watched it on Zee Cinema HD few days back. Great story and nice music as well.
Loving the Marathi-Hindi song... Navrai Maajhi Ladaachi Ladaachi Ga :-)

But...Jab Tak Hai Jaan....come on.... ?????

Nice!! :clapping:

Did you get the Life of Pi from Amazon ?
IT still shows me available for pre-order and not released ?

Can you share the link ?

Yeah, I ordered 'Life of Pie' from Amazon.com. In UK, this BD is still to be released.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AB0Z88S/ref=oh_details_o00_s01_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I had placed this order long back along with few more future pre-order titles (Such as 'Django Unchained' - to be released on 16th April, but in UK it will be released in May).

However I have realized one thing during my purchase experience from Amazon US.
The packaging of US discs is little inferior in comparison to UK discs. So it's always better to order from UK in case one is not in hurry.
The plastic case used in US discs is thinner and not of hard plastic material. It needs to handled carefully, else one may break one of the case locks.
