Today evening, I received the most awaited, most desirable, most dreamt of Bluray movies :yahoo: GANGS OF WASSEYPUR !!

The good news is that....I checked both the movies by browsing through chapters quickly and the audio and picture quality both are upto the mark.
This is Eagle Bluray product, yet there is no watermark throughout the movie (I still need to confirm it completely if there are any occasional watermark during the movie.)

Hurray !! Getting these favourite movies on Bluray is none less than a treat !!
The coming weekend is gonna be a blast at home with all the friends gathering with lot of liquors and slangs while watching these movies ;-)
Hats off to Anurag Kashyap & Zeeshan Kadri for producing these 2 great movies!

BTW I also ordered few from Amz.uk. MI-(1-4), Kubric boxset (7movies), American Pie(1-4), LOTR trilogy (regular edition) - all in BD and French connection 1 & 2 in DVD. Total 70.29 GBP incl shipping. Hope the new postmaster will allow me to watch them free of duty ..

I was not impressed by American Pie 4. Looks like a gheesa-peeta story and the charm/fire is missing inspite of the nude scenes. You order value is very high. I would advice you to keep the order value to below 40 in future.

Well, can you confirm if The Girl With.....Trilogy is the same as this... Stieg Larsson's Millennium Trilogy Blu-ray.

My better half is always complaining that I buy Action/Sci-Fi/Crime genres only. Hence the spate of some 'Romance' and 'Drama' movies.

I know that Am Pie-4 is not great.. but coming as part of the bundle. I think I am paying additional 2GBP or so. So that's fine.

Yeah I will try to keep it around 40-50 GBP in future. BTW I have marked it as gift and delivery is being addressed to my better half. Let's see whether the customs guy allows me atleast the waiver under free gift upto Rs 10000/-

Good to see lot or orders in the last couple of days

My first order a set of 4 discs from Amazon UK and were suppose to reach me by 14th of Feb and are yet to arrive.

I have contacted Amazon support and was asked to wait till 7pm today, If I the order is not received will need to contact them again,

There are 2 options:
1.Reshipment
2.Refund.

My house is in somewhat suburb part of Chennai with 2 pincodes for our area. This order is currently being shipped through Royal mail which is not trackable and also they use our great Indian postal services to deliver.

Please suggest which is the best option of the 4, in case I am not receiving the order by today:

1.Refund(Being my fist set of order feel bit senti to do this)

2.Reshipment but completely trackable- Is this possible with Amazon uk even if means additional cost?

(In one of the chats with Amazon UK was told that at the time of ordering and location of delivery, they use some algorithm to determine the mode of shipment which Amazon team do not have any control. )

I have written a few times to Amazon.co.uk to use alternate courier services. They said that "they would look into it". If more and more people, complain about Indian postal department, they may be forced to reconsider. I suggest that all FMs that use Amazon, UK services to write a feeback mail.

As far as your case is converned, I suggest that you wait at least 3 weeks. Write to them, after March 8 again if you fail to receive the delivery. I would further advise on refund instead of replacement mainly because of following reasons:

- replacement delivery is marked at "Commercial merchandise" and not gift (even if your original order was a "gift order"
- the prices declared on Customs invoice are full standard retail prices and not the Amazon discounted prices. Amazon prices are usually 10% to 35% off RRP (recommended retail price). So if your original order was 37, the replacement order will be valued, say maybe, 90 for customs purposes.
- your order will attract customs duty at the mentioned invoice value

This has happened to me and I am speaking from experience.

Oh the reshipment option seems a terrible idea, if it's what Kix have said. Better go for refund.

Regarding shopping from Amazon US, either you can use Ishop with their Bulk order options or better use the shipping from Amazon itself. Amazon (US) uses Aramex and DHL etc to ship products and they are trackable. Only that you need to pay Customs upfront, which in case is not charged, then will be refunded to you after 60 days.

Second that. The replacement shipments I got were shipped this way too. I wasn't charged customs though, but that was just luck and the particular post office that processed the inbound shipments.

To the OP, I'd suggest waiting a bit more. One tends to watch the first shipment like a hawk. After a while you just order and forget about it until the BD's show up at your door.

Well, Amazon has done "Import Fees Deposit" refund on three of my older orders. I got a total refund of over $45 or something. They have also promised to look into two more orders that were delivered in the last two months. If refund goes thru, that will be another $40 or so.
