Pioneer sp-fs52 andrew jones designed now in india

Congratulations..seems like a very sweet deal..almost same as Amazon US price. Any idea how much were the Sub and the BS22 pair? if anyone manages to get the 5.1 for 35K....super deal:yahoo:

I got mine safely delivered by my friend:yahoo:

Sound is good but I havent heard any other similar speaker to give an opinion if its good or bad. Since I already have its younger cousin BS22, it doesnt sound totally different but definitely better bass.

I need to google or search this forum on how to break into the speakers..if anyone already has it.please paste the link.

Also for people who already own this, please let me know if you have fixed the stand to the speaker by using the screws given by pioneer. Thx

I have received my 5.1 set, not yet setup as my living room is being painted but did check all of speakers for testing and i must say the Sub is worst than Intex 2.1 Sub which i used to have few years back.

I do own a Logitech z5500 which performs 100 times better. I wasn't expecting much from this 8" driver but for the cost and its size it should have sounded comparably decent.

For some reason the sw is different from what is being sold elsewhere. So it is best to buy all but for sw

But my experience is opposite, i watched dark knight , and it was mind blowing. I felt almst i m sitting in theatre. And i even confirmed twice if it is pioneer sub

Nice: did you confirm which model was that ?
Prasad: fixing the screws is easy. You can read the small manual that comes along with the speakers to fix.

Hi Guys,
I'm considering to get YHT-2910 and may be add front bookshelfs later.
I heard denon avr-x500 + ba soundware xs 5.1 is also a good choice..

Mainly for movies and some music; my budget is under 50K.. advice please... Tnx :)

Hi Murli,
On trial basis i got the pioneer sub i was mentioning from dealer.
and it turned out to be a new model.

s51W
it is a better sub then this combination earlier had (SW-8MK2)

On broad level specs comparison is as follows:
==================================
s51w:
cone: 8 inches
Power (RMS) - 150 W
Frequency Range: 26-900hz.
weight: 13.5 KG

SW-8mk2:
Cone:8 inch
Power (RMS): 100 W
Frequency Range:38 hz - 150 hz
Weight: na

so this explains that this sub is better than previous one hence was really good.

Till now i am experimenting with different peice of music/movies / settings.
will post, i find something significant to mention.

i have noticed something however till now:

I have Denon 1612
I have kept the subwoofer channel at 0 db (on Denon)
and i have to reduce the volume on sub at 10 o clock position.
if i increase it more i get noise from driver, so i reduced it.

Anyone has any idea which dealer in pune has stocks of these? The pune distributor listed on pioneer India website does not have stocks since 3 months.

I think when people say they have got Andrew Jones 5.0 for 35k , the sub is not included in that. Am I right?

"5.0" is supposed to not have any sub.
5 stands for 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers and 1 centre channel speaker

The .1 is supposed to denote the subwoofer.
So 5.1 includes a sub while 5.0 doesnt

thanks grunthos. I am aware of it, but wanted to confirm the price and if the FM had made any typo while writing it :)

I am only interested in the towers. Any idea where in Chennai I can audition and buy.

OK what price they are offering for s-51?

I given 11K , to make dealer comfortable and secure him on condition that i will try it for 15 days and if i don't like will return it. though it is a demo peice.

I also discovered there is one more stronger model (12 Inch driver) on pioneer india website,

S-MS3SW |

i requested dealer to get this one also for me to try. and i will try it for a week, and see if any of them will suit me, else i will return both of them.

thanks. I am quoted both S-51 and MS3SW around 11K, I think i can further reduce it to Rs.500 if I decide to buy any one of them.

For excellent sound that won't break the bank, the 5 Star Award Winning Wharfedale Diamond 12.1 Bookshelf Speakers is the one to consider!
