Please review pioneer vsx-1131

Hello FMs,

Was helping my friend in a new hi-fi setup.

Came across vsx-1131 but couldn't find much review about the avr nor cud find a demo hence new thread.

Could anyone please share his experience with this avr?

Inclination more towards music.

Also plz suggest a matching speaker for the avr.

How is pioneer sounds signature? Bright/warm?

Budget for avr is 50k and 30 k for speaker.

Cud there be a better avr at this budget?

Kindly advise.

For a 50K AVR you may need to increase budget for speakers, especially because you are inclined towards music. So plan your purchases accordingly.
If budget is a constraint at the moment, maybe you could purchase only the Fronts (L+R) to begin with and later add the centre, then sub and then surrounds and build a much better system.

if Music is your priority then i would suggest go with Integrated Amp like MARANTZ PM6006 / PM6005 well within your budget. You will save some money, put it in buying good speakers which will pair well - Dali / Wharfedale / ELAC / Pioneer. Trust me you will be more satisfied You can add Sub later if you feel you need more Bass.

Key is audition & start with 2.0 later you can build as per your listening taste.

Hello everyone,

Thanks much for your time.

Lemme correct myself, 30k is only for bookshelf. Planning to add sub, center and surround in phase 2.

Plan is to set a full 5.1 setup for both movie and music so amp is not the way. However will add an amp post setting up 5.1.

- Wud Dali z3 gel well with pioneer vsx 1131?
- Wud Polk dsw 660 better than e12f Dali sub?( Both musically and for movies).40k budget max.
- How is pioneer vsx 1131 over Denon 1300? As these 2 are in my budget. X1300 doesn't have a pre out , hence cant add an amp later.

My basic concern is sound signature for pioneer.
How wud it be with music and movies both.

Plz advice.

with Dali z3 would suggest to go with Marantz NR1506/1606 they really match well. IMO Pioneer might be bit on the brighter side.

Specifications and features wise you can't get any better amp at that price range.As per FM's advise Dali Zensor 3 is also very good speakers and it is a nice pair for your amp.I am using Pioneer 930 with KEF Q500 and the sound signature is very good.I think you can notice the difference slightly in sound signature on higher end amp models.Anyway go to audition and deside yourself.
