Hi All,

After a long time a purchase, because after a long break I am am back with my gaming machine to pursue my gaming hunger .... bought the following ...

1. Steel Series Siberia Gaming Head Set along with USB Sound-card.

Playing on xbox 360 with my 6200 was no doubt one hell of an experience, but I am a PC gamer, and would always prefer PC games over console, 2 main reasons, better graphics (with a power house of a GPU) and Keyboard-Mouse combo advantage ....... So I was looking for a substitute that can replace same experience of my 6200 while playing games on my PC.

A professional gaming headphones is the nearest you can get. Steel Series is one of the top companies to come up with some cool professional gaming accessories. SIBERIA V2 is one such Gaming Audio Accessory.

2. Siberia USB SoundCard

This is one nifty accessory for this gaming headset, what is does is seriously enhance the audio, buy providing EQs, presets, environment variables, but the best part is the Virtual 7.1 surround sound, for the games that has this enabled. Though obviously it would not replace the actual speaker experience that I have with my Xbox connected with 6200, but what it does is to give a surround feeling to it and it does work pretty effectively. Plus the bass is just suberb (for gaming and movies only (NO Music Plzz)). Over if you invest in the above headphones its seriously advisable to get these as well ......

ok - so my apple tv 160GB is here. It just works out of the box and works right. Quite good UI, intuitive to me at least. Everything just works. Hoping to convert it to a great headless music transport - waiting for iphone/ ipod.
Oh the remote is lovely. Not because it is tiny, it works very well even when appletv is not in line of sight! Wow exp!

Is it
Wondering how to create an itunes account without a credit card. Is it same as apple id?

BANDRIDGE Digital Optical SPDIF Toslink 1m cable for INR 549. Connected my TATA sky+ to AVR :ohyeah:

Got these last week:
1. Denon 1611
2. Wharfedale 10.1 (pair)
3. Wharfedale Sub MX.10 (equivalent of SW-150, but with downfiring driver)

AVR:
Not much thought went into this, bought Denon based on good reviews.

Speakers:
I had already audtioned Polk TSI-300's but didnt like them. Even my wife too felt they were a bit harsh (paired with Denon 1611).
Then went to audition Wharfedales, almost decided on Diamond 9.5 or 10.2.
Auditioned both for about an hour. Then, the person suggested to also listen to 10.1.
Thought, no harm in giving them try too. And I was amazed at the imaging of these speakers. Still, had to decided between 10.1 & 10.2.
The deal breaker was the option to wall mount the 10.1's, which saved me the cost of stands reqd for the bigger 10.2's. And also, having 2 small kids at home, felt wall mounting would be much safer that placing on stands or having Floorstanders.

Subwoofer:
I had auditioned Polk TSI-300's along with Polk sub (do not remember the model but was appx 300W rms) and it was an immediate no-no.
Then decided to try SW-150, again based on so many excellent reviews. But finally got MX.10 as it was available in stock.

Have been listening to music since then, I have to try some good action movie scenes now, to experience the power of the sub woofer. Will probably try on weekend.

How much did each cost?

Just bought myself a Logitech Harmony 525 Universal Remote, as I was sick and tired of all the clusters of remotes.
Cost me 3400 Rupees, from the Logitech Showroom at E-Mall, Chandni Chowk.
Can't wait to go home and set it up...

Mate, do share your experience on whether you were able to configure all of the equipment mentioned in your signature. It will be first hand feedback for prospective buyers like me.

Sure I will. I checked Logitech's website for compatibility, and according to it, all of these should work correctly. Will be trying out tonight....

It's all because of HFV that i was able to finalise on this combo. Although have been a regular reader of AV max since it's launch in Dec' 99 and also What HiFi.
