Rare gramophones-radiograms-records

Anilji, I do have this ep, but heard somewhere that this was a set of 2 eps. cant confirm fully though!rgds

Viswaji,
Again you have shed some more lights ... That's an interesting piece of information. One more wish added in the request to the supreme power.

Certainly I will include that in my hunt and let you know in case if I am successful...

In between your request on the "Mariyamman Thiruvizha" EP is in my mind. The day I get one you will get to know.

Regards,
anil

Wonderful collections, Anil..

Same time last year, I picked up a tito model box gramophone (they call it as portable gramophone).

The beauty of this portable model is, no one tried to replicate it in India, cos no takers for this non-fancy one without horns. If any one come across this, without any expert knowledge on gramophone can blindly buy this kind of models, for sure they would be authentic originals & antiques.

And this model has an auto-stop, detachable crank and two beautiful storage cups for fresh/used needles.

Recently I saw few Ads in Fb/Olx which they quote around 30-40K, where as I picked it up for 12K last year.

Btw,I am yet to figure out the usage/purpose for the wedge-twin slit slot (chrome plated) found on the right side?

only one word to describe your collection - "Amazing"

Nice to see that Ahuja valve amp. Our school had one like that, back in the 1970s. It was later replaced by a similar-looking solid state model.

Simon,
Thanks.
The wedge-twin slit slot found on the right side is for inserting shellac record cleaner tool. I could collect one ...

amazing to see the KLM 45

Air travel back in the 1970s was hugely prestigious and affordable for a select few. Wonderful to see what these lucky travellers received while flying.

Got hold of test pressings of a couple of classic albums (only 5 test presses of both of them were made).. Never thought I'd ever collect test presses but now that i have them.. It feels quite nice :)

Great. You are lucky to have them. Test pressings are collector's pride and also luckily we get to hear some never released extras in that.

I have got a test pressing of K.B. Sunderambal [late singer/artist in tamil] in 78 RPM and couple more in 78. Most of 78 RPM test pressings were single sided.

Pyraminds- A tourism promo LP pressed by United Arab Republic
Doris Day - My fav artist in a 10 inch 33RPM disc - Holland Phillips pressing
New Times - Russian global propaganda magazine in Vinyl - 1983
