Reuben, actually, these vinyls were with me for more than a decade.. Thanks to Anil, its only when I hit upon this thread, I started looking at them with the collectors perspective.

I wonder how many treasures would have got skipped my eyes, in the past.

It's pirated, I have plenty of these China/Taiwan/S.Korea pressings on very thin vinyl. Some sound awful others not too bad.

very good collections. i only dont have odeon pressing of kalathur kannama and telugu version of mullum malarum. aanandham aanandham nee thananthu is my favourite song from pootatha poottukal and aaradhani songs..... anil you should have picked up the Lp rather than the Ep for Joshila........

The Super 7 Record S/SLDE 18176 33 1/3 is STEREO . But is not labeled STEREO .
Songs: Engeyo sellum, Varuvai kanna & Thevathai,Nejukkulle

The 45 RPM record SSDE 11366 is MONO
songs: Jil polish,Yaaro Neeyun Naanum Yaaro

Even the Salangai Oli EP is also MONO.

Have the EMI demonstration LP, from dad's old collection. He bought this new back in the day. Mom used to think he's crazy when he listened to the sounds of blacksmiths, guys working on horse shoes, trains passing, etc.

Anil, You've stuck the gold mine there!! See if you could dig out some 1948 early mono LPs.

I have a collection of around 40+ 12" 78 RPM records made between 1908 and 1930. Initial 12-inch records were single sided with a big Angel Logo on the reverse side.

Initially 12-Inch records were released as boxed Classical albums and then stopped during the world war.
1.
12" 78 RPM Year : A 3 Disk album-DVORAK SYm No.5 Rochester Philharmonic Orch 3 disk album with hard bound cover.
VICTOR RCA RED LABEL

2.A single Sided 12" Record's back side

3. 8" 78 RPM.
British Disc Record Labels of the Acoustic Era. Label: Broadcast by vocalion gramophone co ltd.
These records had a slightly narrower groove, to be able to compress 3 minutes on a disc.

4. 10" 78 RPM Test/first press: one side was a test/first press of a tamil film and other side was a HVM Burmese A.1 Recording.
Side-1
A Test press of Movie Galatta Kalyanam. Song "Appappa naan appan-nillayo" by TMS. Am I hearing this right... same song in the movie was "Appappa naan appanallada" instead of "Appappa naan appan-nillayo". So is this a press which was discarded... I need to make sure that.

Side 2:HMW A.1 Burmese Press
Burmeese song - "Ka jab Kiyo Devar ne meri" ....
