Hi Anilkumar
I have just joined this forum while searching some antique radios. though I am very much interested in music and antique stuffs I am just starting to collect some antique stuffs. it was amazing to see such a good collection of yours. I live in chennai too. I read about your radiogram for sale. is it still on?. can you send me some details. also I have a thorens hornless gramophone. But after procuring it I found the sound box is from HMV. IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET A THORENS sound box somewhere? if you are in chennai by the end of the month, is it possible to meet ?
thanks
Arun
Arun,
Thanks and welcome.
I am still holding the Radiogram as often friends are visiting to see and hear it. Hence became little reluctant to sell it. But I will be forced to do so as I have already got a state of Art GRUNDING Radiogram and in process of shifting my base out of Chennai.
Once I change my mind again to sell it, will let you know.
The original configuration was:
1. a Garrard Model 50 Changer with Original Turntable paper and cartridge. Still looks almost new.
2. A Philips Tube Radio working as a Radio as well as a AMP.
In addition to it:
I added a Philips Tube controlled SPOOL tape I was having to make the setup more complete for recording purpose.
You are most welcome to visit me and to have a look at the collection.
If you have some time this Sunday, please do visit me. I am in Chennai now.
Tomorrow I will be home after 6:00 PM.
Will send you a Private Message with my Phone#. [Just enable it in your Profile. Current you donot have it]
Reg Thorens sound box : It is difficult to get. But I will give you a contact number in a PM. You can put a word with him....wait to become lucky....
Regards,
Anil.
