required suggestion about led tv

Absolutely ridiculous even to think to buy a 3700 hrs used tv for 70k ,ask for 35k else drop the idea of buying it.add 20k to your budget of 70k and buy 40kdlw900 tv .It is not advisable to spend that much money to high used display tv,

I stand by his statement. Try to bring it to 45 to 50k or even less. 3700 hours is no joke even for an LED. This means almost 462 days considering 8 hrs/day usage. Also at showroom they keep all the setting at the highest possible levels and so chances of wear and tear are maximum.

As I already told, bargain hard and pay the least possible price. Otherwise consider a new TV.

My living room sony lcd has done 2500 hours in 3 yrs and it runs a lot. I would rather buy a TV from grey market than a demo piece.Should be available around 45k in grey market.

Is it possible to reset the usage hours of the tv by dealer? Can you please guide me the thread which tells how to check usage hours please?

Hard to find on mobile :p

Thanks Swarna Surjya, j4k and k2max6, I'll try to get that in 50 k if not will see other option, kindly suggest me options also, one is w800a which is some out of budget. Non 3d non smart will also be ok if screen size and picture quality will good. thanks

Jacob,
If w800a is out of reach, then you can consider w650/674 or w700/702 which are non 3D.
Amongst other, the Panasonic 42E6D is a good bet with 100Hz scan rate. Also never neglect Toshiba 42inch 3D models which is around 60k with 4 HDMI ports and wi-fi connectivities..best value for money. Sammy 6 series is also good but I am personally not satisfied with the way samsung handles fast moving objects. Also pay a visit to Philips Series 7 LEDs.

But my Samsung 6200 handle fast motion very nicely, whenever I pause a fast moving scene it seems like a still picture

Hello Swarna Surjya, please tell me what's your view about 46 f 5500 (led) and 46 w700a and what is the meaning of motion control ready. Thanks

Sorry for being late in responding. What happened finally to your HX-850 deal? Has it worked out in your favor or has the deal got scrapped.
Regarding 46 F5500 all I can learn from the TS, it has got a CMR of 100Hz which does not guarantee that you can get a 100Hz frame rate. CMR rate and panel refresh rate are different in most of the cases. So make sure that the motion judder does not take place. As I have not seen this piece in person it is hard to tell you the PQ but it is obvious that the dual core processor is used for all other non important reasons like motion control or gesture control, face recognition and Apps. Also Series 5 do not produce the same black levels as Series 6 due to lack of local dimming (Micro dimming as called by Samsung). So if are more inclined towards Apps then it can be ideal for you.
Again F5500 is a non 3D set so does it makes sense to invest a lot on something which don't enhance your viewing pleasure? Take a look at Samsung F6400 or F6800 within your budget for that extra punch in PQ.

Coming to SONY W700, it is also not a 3D set. As per as reviews are concerned W700 has got mixed reviews. So W600/W700/W800 are no way better than last year's HX series. Only the exception is W900/W950 series. Just demo a W900 yourself and decide.

Thanks for reply, that deal is still there but I think 3700 hour old tv is quite old and they didn't reduce the price so dropped that one. Actually 3d or smart is not a must feature I want but picture quality and size which will be ok for viewing distance of about 13-15 feet what it matters (kindly suggest for which size tv I should go according TO distance), but getting 3 d or smart for some extra bucks will be ok. Looking forward for independence day offer if got one and yes I'll look for f6400 and 6800 also. KIndly suggest the size for which I should go, thanks

Don't go for the display piece at any cost. You won't know at what settings it has been used. That's what happened with me as well. Found a scratch on the display upon unboxing and the usage hours were around 3729 hrs. Went for a refund, put in some more bucks and got the W900A instead. The PQ difference between the two is huge.

So when you say PQ difference is huge, which one is better?

Hi Jacob,
In my opinion the basis to any TV selection is - 'The Bigger the better'. Go for the biggest and the best you can afford.
In that aspect the Plasmas wins the competition hands down. The Samsung Plasma 51F5500 boasting a 51inch screen with all the best black levels, smart features and 3D is available @75K. The best in class Panasonic 50 inch Plasmas are also available at around 80K-85K. There is no question that Plasmas are free from Judder, Patching, Ghosting and have the most viewing angle. They have the best Size to Cost ratio.
Coming to LED, 80K is a mid level budget for a quality LED. If you reach 90K you can get hold of class leaders in 42inch category like SONY W900, SAMSUNG 7 series, LG 6900 series and so on.
For 10-15 ft viewing distance, choose anything around 50inch or even more.

I don't think my brother will take a good care of tv so I want TO go for led. If I have TO choose from 40w900 and 46f 6400, what will you advice, consider room distance also, its not like every time they watch from 13 feet distance but mostly in night and in morning time distance will be just 8-9 feet. Please reply thank you.

At your viewing distance 46inch is preferred. But having said that I cannot resist the temptation of asking you for a demo of w900a. If 40inch is okay for you then look no further and book a w900a right away.:)
