Right now I am listening to ...

hi ,
Iam playing alan parsons project in my clinic this evening.listening to eye in the sky-fab.number.

Hey chandu nice to have a rocking dentist here!!!! APP is smooth. Hope u have heard all their offerings. If not try Ammonia avenue, stereotomy, gaudi, vulture culture. I presume u have the Eye in the sky album and not just the single as there are some great tracks on that cd too.

HI guys,

Just finished a listening session with a friend at my place !! we listened to Various Albums like Chesky records "THE ULTIMATE DISC" and FIM's (First Impression Music) Popular Audiophile Music Vol 2,Naim Records Antonio Focione's Live Guiter sessoins,Ellinor Mcroy, etc

Was fun :D!!

Greatest Radio Hits- Bruce Hornsby. Some super tracks.(Valley road, way it is, every little kiss...........)

Sharad Rhythm House is a great place for MUSIC. If u dont want the indian edition cds they will call for the imported version at no extra cost. Have been buying LPs/now cds for the last 15 years and have never had a complain. I have never bought from them online as they are very close to my workplace so i generally drop in.

Really? I was not aware of that. I got a shock when I ordered Van Morrison recently and got an Indian disc. I always avoid "Made In India" CDs. That is why I visit personally as often as possible (am also a regular for over 15 years now - from the days when you had to take the empty cassette cover to the cash desk, remember that?). However I visit Planet M more often as I find they have some real gems. The two complement each other. There used to be a good store in Eros Cinema building but I think it shut down. They used to have good imported stuff when I was too young to appreciate it.

Hi Particleman,
When at Rhythm House go meet ANIL. Tell him the titles u are interested in and place an order.(no payment is required). They will check international availability and call for it and call u.
At any point of time some of my requests are always pending.
Regards

Dinyaar,thanks man.
will definitely check them out.I was playing best of APP.today I've started with fleetwood mac-Rumours.Nothig like working and listening to your fav. music at the same time.A lot of my patients hum along and enjoy the stuff.I have wharfedale flat panels on the walls of my clinic .

Hi Particleman,

I made sure I check LABEL while ordering, so I got the imported (mostly 'verve') CDs. The recording is as good as it gets on a plain red book CD.

Unfortunately the LABEL field is disabled on their Advanced Search view. So you have to explicitly check that on the CD details page.

They don't sell LPs online :(
It is possible that they are not sure about the delivery.
I have been getting LPs through post since the early eighties. I was a member of the HMVs music mail. They used to send me a hard copy of their catalog. No LP ever got damaged on the way. Even Acousticsounds folks package their LPs extremely well.

Thanks,
Sharad

Was it a dry or a " lubricated " session ? :p
Seriously, I do hope more members get together for such sessions-they're such fun & you get to meet the person behind the pseudonym & make some good friendships.

Elvis Costello & Allen Toussaint - The River in Reverse
Jan Garbarek - Rites
Keith Jarrett - Personal Mountains
Peter Gabriel - Shaking The Tree [SACD]

Got both the recent A.R.Rahman releases; Ada and Jane Tu...

First impression- not bad!

Ada is a good collection of songs which reminds me of the movie "Taal" for whatever reasons. I liked all the songs but the one by Udit Nryn titled 'hai dard', its kinda too boring for my taste-strictly imho, ofcourse!

Jaane Tu... is different from Ada in many ways. First of all it doesnt remind me of any of his other works. But it does remind me of Michael Bubble. The song "tu bole mein boloon" is typical jazz adaptation with the obvious bollywood twist. But I liked it.

I like Ada better compared to the later one. Not tryin to do a review here, just my impressions!

Cheers.

Roger whitaker-great songs.was there a song called the Indian Lady.Used to love playing that song over and over when in college.(around 20 years ago) .If I were a rich man is another good one.

If i were a rich man is best sung by Topol(Fiddler on the roof guy) though Roger has sung is well enough too.

I second that. Dinyaar, Roger Whittaker is one of my favourite singers, and has been from college(20+ yrs for me too) .

Do you happen to have his live album which has the song "What Love Is"?

Rajiv
