Right now I am listening to ...

I remember coming home from school and feeling happy playing this song. Max Martin and Late Denniz pop were one of the best in what they did. Ace of Base, E-type, BSB, 'N sync, 5ive, Britney Spears

and most hit pop songs of the time were their product. A time when Swedes (Scandinavians on the whole) dominated music. Todd Terry was cool too.

I never heard this artiste before so I heard a few of his numbers on Youtube today. His voice has an old-world charm which carries quite nicely.

I recall that this song became quite popular a few years back because of its underlying political message. Besides, being sung in three languages also made it unique!

yes he does have a deep silky voice. his most popular album was closer and i believe his most well known song was you raise me up. he came into the limelight when andre bocelli was unwell and couldnt make it to a rehersal with celine dion for the song 'the prayer'. celine dion ultimately went on to recording a duet of the same song with groban as well

Mid 80's to Mid 90's produced some good Pop/Rock'n'Roll/R&B music. The music scene had already begun to change with the old Rock groups and Super groups fading away and no new bands in sight to replace them. That's when music world also started leaning towards good, clean wholesome music. Don't forget MLTR, Peter Andre, Christina Aguilera, Shakira, Pink et al! I'm not counting the divas and the masters at that!!

These Swedes!! They churn out good singers like production lines!! Abba, Roxette and so many that followed them.....

Another Fav group. Recording quality of their album 'II' on the whole was pleasant.

Unfortunately I only had some crappy cassettes of them and collected a few of their hits in those popular compilation CDs like the Now series etc. The cassettes wore out and I never got to replace them after that.

Yes, I do remember reading about Groban being an understudy of Bocelli somewhere or the other. Of course I was not aware that Celine Dion cut a separate recording with Groban later. Do you have any details of which album I can find this duet?

Sarith, afj will you please suggest any particular album that I can begin hearing Groban or should I just play safe and go for a Greatest Hits/Best Of compilation album?

Ah yes. The cover of the album suggests the swinging 1920's in the U.S. of A!! Of New York and Chicago, of gangsters and Prohibition, of jazz and ragtime, of Hemingway and Fitzgerald, of ladies attired in the style called "flappers"!!

But swing music to the accompaniment of electronic music? That's something else!!! Are we looking at a new genre called "Electro-Swing"? :ohyeah:

But seriously speaking, it'll really be nice if you can give us some details like artistes, producers and the tracklist.

Here's another 90's all-male group that released some good R & B songs.....

ALL-4-ONE : ALL-4-ONE

This self-titled album was released in 1994. The group won nominations for two tracks from the album "So Much in Love", "I Swear" and also for Favourite Pop/Rock New Artist for 1995, ultimately winning the Grammy as Favourite New Artist Soul/R & B for their song "So Much in Love" that year.

NOTEWORTHY TRACKS: So Much in Love, I swear and Here If Youre Ready. Honourable mentions Without You and The Bomb.

Paint my love from MLTR is the only song I cared to listen a lot. I like Richard Marx. When people were crazy about spice girls, I liked TLC, Destiny's Child more. I would prefer Brandy, Jlo and Christina Aguilera over Britney. Not a big fan of Pink or Shakira. Abba and Roxette are giants!

Never thought anyone here listened to t.A.T.u. My friend introduced me to them and I ended up collecting most of their albums... even the ones in Russian though I never understood a word of it. Good music though.

One thing about watching Music Television back in the days were that they played music videos from around the globe most of the time. t.A.T.u was an instant hit.
