Not sure about Ravi Nagar. The popular store since ages in this part of town has been Ramesh Gramophone House behind Saroj (now Sudama) theatre. I got the CD here.

I've been lost in the 1980s and 1990s (a little of the 1970s too) for the past couple of days. Especially listening to the likes of Kenny G., Johnny Hates Jazz, Lionel Richie, Duran Duran, Sophie B. Hawkins, Richard Marx, Fleetwood Mac, Foreigner and many more.

SpyroGyra -Old Boot Wine. This is a progressive folk rock album not rated the best, but dont be fooled. Its very relaxing and enjoyable music, for the times you just want to lean back on the couch, tap your feet and stare into oblivion rather than focus on a tv or tablet screen.

I love love SpyroGyra's You Can Count On Me and Pipo's Song. Listen to the bass line on Pipo's Song - it's awesome. One of the best bass I've ever heard.

Nope, but I did religiously follow Radio Ceylon back then. IIRC that was the only station that played English music and even tracks on demand.

That said most of my "musical" education is from my parents who played a ton of LPs when I was a kid and then as a teenager MTV (which was still American and never played any Indian film music back in the mid 90s when it launched).

Add: Billy Ocean's Suddenly. I played it the other day (after so many years) while driving and my "passenger" who normally don't comment on my choice of songs perked up, and actually asked me the name of the track and the singer.

Billy Ocean, reminds me of Caribbean Queen, one of his biggest hits. Was a constant on my tape too. Thanks for the reminder.
