An amazing album and a treat to the ears. Very good for testing your setup, a superb reference material!!
Certain songs just blew me away like 'So Far Away', 'The Man's Too Strong', actually all.

Highly recommend this music album from the 2005 film Paheli. Listen to it on a half good system and you'd realise why. As against the common practice of heavily synthesised instruments and sound common in Hindi movies since the late 90s, this one has all real instruments. That's one big reason to listen - to see how sweet and rich it sounds . Then, the stereo imaging of recorded music - I can easily say it's among the best recorded Hindi film albums.

Hats off to MM Kreem, the music director (who also gave another musical gem in 'Sur'), Amol Palekar, the movie director for his vision, and Shahrukh Khan, the producer to back it.

Listen to this album in the late afternoon on a system that is open and airy. The songs will sonically transport you. This film is about musicians and not surprisingly, MM Kreem delivers a soundtrack worthy of it.

Lucky Ali is a very capable Indian pop singer who made hit albums of his own. Here his easy flowing and sophisticated voice is well complimented by Sunidhi Chauhan, whose raw and emotive voice (she is an untrained singer) makes the songs memorable. Usually Sunidhi has been attached to loud folk (item) songs, but this album shows how versatile she really is.

MM Kreem, like the other South Indian composers, produces great sound, with excellent imaging and staging, balancing both the vocals and the instruments (especially the violin - remember the story!). Essentially an album that I'd keep listening to for decades to come, as I have for over a decade now.

(My favorite track: "Aao Tumhe". The whistling, Ali's silken voice, the piano, flute, drums... so well combined in slow tempo. It's very well-constructed. And simple, but life positive lyrics. I have listened to it on repeat mode.)

N.B. Ignore the last track 'Kabhi Shaam Dhale To' by Mahalaxmi which clearly seems like an afterthought and doesn't at all fit with the rest of the songs.

angelina jordan is an 11 year old girl that won norways got talent at the age of 8. though if you hear her sing, you will never know that its a child performing. apart from the maturity in her voice, the way she puts together a song is amazing. she sings a lot of crooner jazz sort of music, and is very often compared to amy winehouse, though she does have a huskier tone
