Wonderful rock album from Tom Petty. That voice hasn't changed in ages.

Perfect for this Big Weekend

Blackmore's Night is one of my favorites... pretty much unique in the renaissance/Celtic rock flavors that they create.

But then Ritchie Blackmore anywhere is awesome... have most of Rainbow, Blackmore's Night, and Deep Purple.

All said and done... they simply don't make music like this anymore.

Indeed! Currently this is spinning on the stereo...

Continues the Renaissance/Celtic themes of destiny, fate, medieval magic, pride & honour of bygone ages but also starts to lean towards rock! Not as cleanly recorded as Fires At Midnight. Seems congested a bit. Cheers.

So glad to see this here. You have eclectic tastes TCHen . Bought this with my first salary. I walked into Music World @ Hyderabad as usual and spotted this in the display rack that is placed closest to the door, ostensibly to trap folks like me into shelling out serious money. I noticed it was a double CD album and went straight to the payment counter. Fond memories! Within the booklet or on the back of it is a photo of SRV in the throes of a solo that's imprinted on my mind. Worth a wall mount.

Later I got all his albums off a great music site which is, probably, part of the dark web now :).

This is the best thread on HFV. It celebrates music. Doff my hat to thread starter Kamal. Where is the doff-my-hat emoticon??? For now this will have to do... :clapping:.

Now that brings out a lot of memories for me too... lots of fond memories too!!! Thanks.

Yes, really an amazing thread... get to dig out a lot of the old stuff or discover new stuff... either way a win win for all.

Full points

Huge metalhead fanboy back in the day. Seem to have outgrown them... or maybe mellowed down with age... but still they made some great music that will last.
