Right now I am listening to ...

Tried a .wav rip, but cannot really notice much difference from a .flac rip. BTW the album is a great collection of Diana Ross and her music.

One of my favorite all time greats. This album has everything going for it and a great addition or a starting point to discover the Bee Gees. My favorite track has always been "More Than A Woman", but "Stayin' Alive" is a close 2nd.

Great album, amazingly gifted vocalist. BTW my favorite female vocalists are Dolores O'Riordan from The Cranberries and Annie Lennox.

Might not be the purist's cup of tea, but great music. Very energetic and will make you want to shake a leg. Guitar work is in a league of its own.

spot on on the guitar work. i've got the album but the recording isnt too hot so the guitaring gets a little muddy. very unique voice as well. their slower numbers are very musical

adding to that list to enumerate mine....

so rebecca pidgeon, dolores o'riordan, annie lennox, ...........whitney (h), mariah (c), barbara (s), roxette, gloria (e), laura (b), jennifer (r), suzanna (h), carpenter, diana (r), diana (k), holly (c), aretha (f), colbie (c), tracy (c), madonna, celine (d), shania (t), sheryl (c), alanis (m), ........... so many more.

I would add Vienna Teng to the above list. Someone introduced me to her music very recently and I have only one word for her, awesome.

Hi,

Just yet another evening (or night) with a pleasant Classical/World music ! it lasted for 2hrs or so and was very good :)!

Cd's were

1.Tabla Beat Science (Zakhir Hussain)
2.Masters of Percussion (Zakhir Hussain and Others)
3.Raaga in Rome ( Sandeep Chatterjee/Clauadio Gigilio/Fulvio Farkas)
4.Unmatched (Guru Kaaraikkudi Mani / Eero Hameenniemi )

Btw, I Have Rebeca Pidgeon's Newyork Girls Club, but didn't like it much :p!! so haven't thought bout the artist since, although the song Spanish Harlem (may not be from this particular Album) is one of my Fav :D !

So how is this RAVEN ?? if you anyone has heard the Album I've mentioned then how is this compared to that ?? coz this Ablum is also available in SACD format ;),so just curious is it worth considering !

Regards.

Great soundtrack, probably the best ever with only Saturday Night Fever for competition. One of my favorites, even Patrick Swayze's "She's Like The Wind" rocks. BTW the movie itself is a great movie...

The album is great, great vocals, melodious, and it has two tracks Grandmother and Spanish Harlem both of which I came across in Audiophile CDs hence my introduction to this artist and so ended up purchasing this one. Unfortunately I have not heard the one you've mentioned to cannot compare between the two.

Would agree with most of them here...

Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Shania, Alanis are personal favorites of mine, but Madonna is weak with her vocals. She is a genius marketing machine though and knows how to sell records. BTW I do have most of Madonna's albums, she was someone I grew up on, but someone I outgrew too as I got older.

Truly a great album, the very 1st track Why will captivate and transport you. Lots of great tracks on this album and a must have in any collection.

Essential Phil Collins, probably not. But still a good collection of his best known songs and then some more. This is a good collection considering the material being output by Phil Collins since the last decade or so. He was one of my favorites especially during the Genesis era...

Vienna Teng does not seem to be available locally. Guess Amazon is the way to go. Planning on d/l mp3 from Amazon. Has anyone done it till now and if so what's the bit rate?

Edit - Bit rate is at 256 kbps and in mp3 format.

Yup, I couldn't find it locally either. The last few times I tried buying MP3 albums off Amazon I was not able to as I did not have a US CC. I'm guessing you're using a US CC...

BTW, here's a few of her live performances from archive.org:

Vienna Teng Live at The Living Room on 2006-11-16

Vienna Teng Live at SF concert on 2007-05-10

Vienna Teng Live at Sendesaal Radio Bremen
