Alex Masi - In the Name of Bach. This is the first part of a trilogy of classicals from this neo-classical, Italian rock guitarist (the other two are "In the Name of Mozart" and "In The Name of Beethoven"). It's a very different feeling to listen to Toccata & Fugue in D Minor played on an acoustic guitar (and not through the usual strings/piano/etc). I always liked this guy's strong classical influence in his playing style (much like the Swedish Yngwie J Malmsteen, but then he predates Malmsteen by a fair margin). But on his rock albums, I thought he was no more than a technical speed monkey. This album entirely changes my perception of him.
