Will try and post a more elaborate impression of these 2 fantastic albums later on but suffices to say that these 2 are fantastic albums, as different from each other as chalk and cheese. Silken and tender versus raw and feral. 2 of the best albums I've picked up this year...
P.S: If you like the Wolf or the Blues, this bio-pic is a fantastic complement to your collection...
1. Jeff Beck's Emotion and Commotion
2. Susan Boyle's Someone to Watch Over Me
Incidentally, the above two albums have something in common - both have covers of Jeff Buckley's Lilac Wine. Both very well done, though I like the Jeff Beck one a wee bit more (featuring Imelda May), may be because of the slow guitar twists of Beck like he only can do. I wonder why Clapton, and not Beck, was named Slowhand?
3. The Waterboys - An appointment with Mr Yeats (the poems of William Butler Yeats put in song) - now, I don't know why I bought this:lol: The music flies well above my head. May be someday I'll develop a taste for such music
Hi
The last episode of MTV Unplugged by Ranjit Barot was outstanding.Watch Roop kumar Rathod , Ranjit et al combining sublime melody into a groovy finish with a rocking and fusion oriented acoustic back up band essentially composed of youngsters.
Good going - its not only the Coke studio from Pakistan after all. MTV Unplugged: Episode 10 - Ranjit Barot - Maula Mere [HD] - YouTube
