Recieved my 64F8500 two weeks ago. So far so good

How is it with sd broadcasts, I mean with settop box not up scaling but the task being delegated to the tv?

With HD, BD, it's brilliant. With SD it does do a great job with upscaling. Current doubts: judder and sports mode. Still not able to find perfect setting to watch sports. Judder - the st rolling stock prices on business news look shaky.

I posted on the Plasma thread regarding a setting on Samsung. I think the options are Auto1 and Auto2. Try playing around with those for the ticker issue.

If you guys recollect I had the same motion judder observation - and that too with the Samsung demo video clip.

If I recall correctly samsung reduced this with a firmware update recently.

Don't sweat guys... Its not a major problem by any means... I'm sure I am not getting the right settings yet and will settle to something thats a good match. If not me, once others recieve this set, I'm sure we will discuss more settings here.

Any information on the availability of 51" F8500 in Pune (or Mumbai/Bangalore)..

If 51" F8500 is not available then will have to go for 51" F5500 i think.. I also didn't find any in-depth reviews for 51" F5500 online..

Had no idea they had also launched the 51F8500 in India. F5500 replaces E550 from last year which was an excellent plasma with many good reviews. If you do manage to see a demo of the F8500, please do let me know where.

No clue about F8500, but ST60 is very much at the warehouses.
Panasonic is quite slow overall.

64F8500 is vanishing quick. The store from where I purchased said they had 4 last week and it sold out in 2 days. I wish if only Panasonic got their act together fast. I read Panasonic ?T60 series are excellent.

A very good year for plasma lovers (maybe not yet in India though).
