Samsung 43D490 Users opinions

Hi Members,
I had bought this monster and I am excited......

But I have few concerns:
1) Mine is wall hung...and this TV has only 1 USB/1 HDMI on the side which is a bit difficult to manage the communications with RCA/VGA/Co axial etc as all the ports are on the rear panel.
2) RCA Inputs: only 1 Yellow input. the other is RGB!....difficult to communicate with STB and DVD player (with no HDMI/no RGB)simultaneously. (RCA Splitter/joiner might resolve the issue but I did not try it)

3) 3D-- Can any one post the BEST 3D SETTINGS for this model. (3D PERSPECTIVE value)
I have "Piranha" 3D movie on my HDD; When I play the movie, as it is 3D it displays 2 images, but on the TV I need to switch on the 3D option to enable 3D and the option is 2D-3D!....Does it convert an already existing 3D source to 3D?. Is there any option for Auto detection of 3D via USB/HDMI?

4) Please post the best Calibration settings for this model...
For ex: the skin tone on the face of a person appears burnt; so is the pitch when viewing a cricket match!

I just bought the D490 for 43,250 rupees btw i havent got 2 3D glasses yet but i am little confused about the used,demo piece cause this tv have a dust on the plastic wrap on all 4corner and i can even see half round circle mark on back side of wall mount screw so does this means its a used,demo piece?

Play your 3D movie, then select the 3D button on the TV remote. You will get 3 icon options, first one is 2Dto3D, second option is Side-by-side, and the 3rd option is top-down. Select the second (middle) option for Side-by-side and you will see the 2 images merge into one. Put on the glasses and Voila!

Hi Everyone. Thanks for your great inputs on this great TV. I live in Delhi and not able to get it at a price anywhere as mentioned on this forum. I would like to have a deal which provides 3D glasses free. Any suggestions welcome. I am willing to buy online too. Thanks.

Hi Guys,

I purchased this monster in 44K with two 3D glasses in Alwar Rajasthan (NCR).... Arjun i hope u can find some better deals in delhi.
