Samsung 55 inch Frame Tv is for 85K

Do not copy colour settings and simply keep tweaking till you find something that you like.

And if you succeed in getting a refund for this TV then I would recommend increasing you budget and getting LG OLED C8/C9 instead. I have the C9 myself and it is fantastic with great colours out of the box and packed with features which will serve you well for at least the next 4-5 years.
i'm not copying the settings.. in fact i tried and keep trying every time when i get time. Finally kind of settled(compromised myself) with so called natural mode(and intelligent mode turned off). But still definitely there is an issue with QLED. The color tone keeps on varying scene by scene and different camera angle. In one scene, face will look like full of magenta tone and next scene or different camera angle will change to full yellowish. I did try movie mode first based on rtings review on previous year model, but that looks washed out. These differences are not noticeable much in all the 4K demos we find in youtubes. But its definitely wont give satisfactory results with normal SD/HD contents. My little experience with photoshop kind of tools hints me that, something wrong with hue & saturation calibration of this TV. Its like bright image will show too much of brightness (losing out the details) and less bright/less light image will show more grayish. Another main issue is poor viewing angle!

The reason why i asked picture settings from other owners are, i see so many +ve and exceptional feedback in flipkart, so had a doubt whether my tv had some issues. May be some people liking this tV's color reproduction capability.

Post some videos or photos of the tv as even i had almost decided to buy this with the tempting discount and 0 cost Demi for 24 months....waiting till next sale so now with your feedback have decided not to buy,
Its difficult to explain by capturing videos/photos. My suggestion would be demo it before buying.. may be your taste will be different and you would be end up liking it. Check flipkart reviews, almost 90% reviews are great, only very few people said its average.

Some people just don't know where to look and what to look at in order to gauge picture quality. This is why reviews in shopping platforms can be deceiving. OLED would be my recommendation. Even ootb, the Cinema and ISF modes in C9 look accurate enough for most users.

I came in to say exactly this. Most user reviews are +ve because they are largely reassuring their own purchase decision and 90% of them don't know what they are talking about.

For example, the OnePlus TV so far has majority 4/5 star reviews and most of them state that it has no cons which is good stand up material stuff but not true :D

@smnrock I did offer you a way out if you are still within the return window. I would say go for a return, maybe you did get a faulty panel. Who is to say for sure.

True. I dont think most people tune with Tv settings other than brightness and color. I have seen in reviews people attaching pics of TV with pixelated picture or too reddish picture and then raving about picture quality.

Ok, will try returning!

Edit: Flipkart assigned this case to Samsung for checking out display. Lets see!

If I were you, I would stop watching any YouTube reviews for TVs especially those made by Indian so called "reviewers". They are extremely basic and no better than reading the product description yourself.

Best way to narrow down on your next TV is to eyeball it yourself with content that you watch on the daily. This can be further aided by reviews from the likes of Vincent Teoh of HDTVTest or Rtings.com. If you are looking to buy something that has already been out in the international markets then go through the user threads on AVS and the likes.

For me, half the fun of buying any tech is the research I put behind it :)

Well never bothered watching indian reviewers. Most of them seem paid amateur reviews

Atleast you got the TV! Flipkart hasn't been able to deliver the product. Neither can i track where the TV is now. I bought in no cost EMI, and the first installment will be billed to me in few days without even getting the TV. I guess i will have to cancel . Have to figure out how cancellation of no cost EMIs works.

I will probably buy the C9 in diwali

That sucks buddy. What size are you looking at for the C9. I would recommend visiting the OLED price thread to check the current prices for the panel and then negotiate with a local dealer accordingly.

I think you lucked out... The C9 is a major step up in terms of pretty much everything when compared to the frame which is an entry level QLED similar to the Q60R.

So in a way FK did you a favor :D

I saw this tv in showroom today.honestly colors did ok to me.tv is not very bright i guess its between 400-500 nits judging by looking at it.you should check with samsung whether your unit is faulty.Though i found the picture quality very average.

Samsung guy visited and said, this is absolutely normal. No issues with display and colors are accurate. Then when I showed the same video in Sony, he started to give reasons such as Sony is not 4K tv. Then shown same video in VU(4K), the reason he gave is it is 40 inch, so there will be color differences.

Anyway, he left by updating his report saying no issues with the TV and it's working fine.

I think I've to live with this.

That's sad, buddy. Until and unless you can find a valid fault in the panel, return won't be approved. I went through this with the Metz OLED. Frame doesn't have local dimming either; otherwise you could have use the brightness changes with subtitles as an excuse. You'll have to find some other issue which they won't be able to deny as a fault.

As I mentioned I've to live with this for now and 10 days return period is already over, so no more options as well.

The way I see it, even q90 seems to be losing out highlights compared to C9 or even with the x950g. So it is in general with all the samsung qleds.

I am surprised. It may not have the oled level, but supposed to be one of Samsung's best panel. Why not check if you can get it professionally calibrated. Given the extensive settings available. It helps if you are in Bangalore or Mumbai.
