Individual LED manufacturers are still working with the same set of limitations that is inherent in the LED tech. QLED is not the savior here.As I mentioned I've to live with this for now and 10 days return period is already over, so no more options as well.
The way I see it, even q90 seems to be losing out highlights compared to C9 or even with the x950g. So it is in general with all the samsung qleds.
The only way you will get close to the PQ of a OLED is by increasing the number of dimmable zones in FALD which in 2019 has reached a peak of 480 zones in the top of the like Samsung QLED Q90R. In contrast the x950g only has 60 dimmable zones.
On the roadmap for LEDs are Micro leds which is still some time away and probably too expensive to implement at this point of time.
To sum it all up, any difference that you are seeing that is making you like the x950g over the q90r is down to the onboard picture processor most likely. Plus, I have never been a fan of Samsung's overly blue and vibrant colour tone out of the box compared to Sony's warmer colours.
