Hey thanks man. I am thinking about trying Viren's phono pre from Lyrita Audio.

No boss. I am just using a part of my bedroom as a combined Home theatre and Stereo listening purpose so that my kids won't be disturbed. I will add a better picture of my room and part of my vinyl collection which consists of English LPs.

My wife's from Thodupuzha and we maintain a home there. We visit the place 3 or 4 times in a year. If its ok with you, maybe we can meet up when I drop by, possibly sometime in December.

Posting pics of my RP 4000D which I am currently using

Debzkool, I like that TT of yours. I have heard it once and as far as I remember it was very musical, warm sound with great bass and PRAT. I ended up listening one complete side of the LP even though I had just requested for a couple of mins of audition:). These little, short yet beguiling experiences led me to consider TT as a serious option.

Hello
Nice to know that there are vinyl heads from Thodupuzha. I thought I was alone. Always welcome brother. Please contact me before you come.

thomacho, that way of stacking LP's will certainly lead to warping over time....

great looking room though, bro!

Manav, I think the image is rotated to the left and the LP's are stacked vertically against the wall. My first thought (like you perhaps) was these were stacked horizontally!! Scary! :D

Thomacho - nice to see a fellow mallu into vinyl, that too in my own Thodupuzha :)

yet another Thodupuzhaite, my wife will be elated to hear this :clapping:

Thanks Thomacho, will do so. My rig is at Trivandrum, currently in the process of constructing my new home. Once that's done, the living hall at the top will be reserved for Hifi listening as both my wife and I are into music listening (different genres though). Have a collection of 500 english LPs, mainly pop, rock, country, instrumental and western classical. Have 3 Hindi LPs as well and will be adding on 2 Hindi LPs, shortly.

Wow what's with all these mallus and vinyl??!!
Just kidding. I guess I need to put a disclaimer that I am a mallu but born and raised in Bombay and now settled in the US so all that probably dilutes the authenticity :)

About time you put up these pics:) Very good looking. And that arm looks to be very fine shape.

Have you put in the new parts?

Anliva and Jls001 - thanks ! :)

well i did get all the parts (springs and oil) and have applied them to the best of my capabilities...but then :) more tweaking in order for the suspension. need to add a decent cartridge though..

and ahh yes, the arm is in pristine condition...cant believe such a design was conceived and implemented in 1979..it has a timeless quality about it.
