work safe..

in the race against time be mindful of safety..

woodworking requires working with sharp and sometimes rotary tools.. and i want you to be wary of hazards.

Thank you for your concern Bro. I am very much aware of power tools specially the rotary. Safety will always be first concern.

i must appreciate your attention to detail. The way the rear has been miter-cut will ensure no unecessary back pressure on the woofer. many DIYers miss this detail. However most would leave a some part of the rear un-mitered so as to allow the screws to get a good grip.

if its not a trade secret, how were you planning the mount the screws?
On Top there is another 18 mm Baffle on which the drivers will be flush mounted which can even hide this error but i don't want to make compromise. And regarding to screw mounting there is enough thickness left for the screws to gain proper strength.

[The flush is 6 mm deep in 18 mm mdf so we have 12 mm left on top baffle in below baffle where the screw hole will be drilled will have thickness of about another 12 mm (after chamfer) so the total thickness for screw mounting will be approx 24 mm which is more than enough

Because it has higher density than the regular MDF, its HDF and a bit costly too.
Its good to know...

and its good to ask in good faith because there are so many intricacies in a particular trade which only an expert will know.

sir

will you be using sheep's wool as damping material for this project ?

maybe a small experiment can be in order.

The designer has used polyfill (Recron) in his built and I will use the same. As i am following the proven design i will not experiment, Secondly this enclosures are not mine.

There are different types of polyfill fibre. Make sure you use the non siliconized, hollow conjugate type available in rolls. They work better for stuffing TL's.
I use the polyfill available in rolls only. Thank you for advice.

Plz post links of your above said polyfill fibres to purchase.. Also tell proper density of polyfill to be used in 3 way large speakers

All those clamps piled on that speaker frame and holding it down are a sight!

That speaker looks nice...

The proportions look pleasing to the eye

I am assuming that it will get a few more coats, but it looks fantastic even as it is. I love the effect that the camera has captured. Rustic chic I think designers would call it. I am full of total respect for your attention to detail.

just one small DIY tip. A slight chamfer on the mouth of the port can reduce port turbulence dramatically. this is especially true for rectangular ports. and it does not need to be a roundover as that might affect port tuning. It could even be a hand sanded one. See if that makes sense for you.

Probably it's better to first fit the drivers and see how it plays over a wide range of music.

If it produces good music...leave it as it is. IMO

The chamfer cannot be reversed I guess...once done.
