Thinking of buying one. Is it good. Any issues with it?

Are there other options that are better?
I would prefer a Sony, so if its nearly the same, then I'll stick with the sony..

Help would be appreciated

Re: Sony 40EX710

I bought a Sony 46EX710 and I'm loving it. At this time I've hooked it up with a SD STB and it's looking awesome.

I have BD player that I use for HD movies and it looks great as well!!

Is there anything in specific you are looking for?

As far as I know, SONY KDL-40EX710 has S-PVA panel which itself is a best panel for picture quality and moreover it has SONY's Bravia Engine 3 which adds pure cream in it's display quality:licklips:

Nothing specific.. will watch a few movies, mostly using the usb drive, some HD movies and a lot of sports channels
Just time to replace the old CRT and was recommended it

46 will be a bit too big, unless I move it to a different wall, which I dont want to do.

Anything I should look out for while getting the 40EX710... any know issues or accessories worth buying.

Also, is the price likely to drop in the next 20-30 days or should I get it straight away?
I would be paying the whole 80k, but it has a decent EMI option where I have to pay a bit over 20% upfront and the rest over 14 months..

What is the price of 46 and 40 EX710 models? Please share.

46'' for RS 99,000 and 40" for 79,990
This price is from Croma. For a Cash payment you can avail discount of another 2-3 thousand if good bargain is done from any of the Sony authorised centres.

I too plan to purchase 46EX710 sometime in next 2 months, last month the a Sony Dealer quoted me 99K here in Kolkata. Am still in the process of finalizing it over LG 47LE5500 (less than 90K) and SAMSUNG UA46C6200 (1.2 Lakh) but think that sony has more advanced picture controls. However seems LG has better extended warranty options. Am waiting for the world cup offers to start to see if I get a better deal.

Hope there will be some offers during world cup time... I am too inclined towards Sony. I think the LG model is available under 90k for sure......

I bought Sony 46EX710 for Rs.93,000 from Vasanth & Co, Mylapore in Chennai. Had to do a lot of bargaining for this price. Girias was offering Rs.94,000, which I used as a leverage with Vasanth and co (as I'm a regular customer there). The Sony Showroom was not willing to discount even a single Re from Rs.99,000.

Sony EX710 range is awesome... Go for it guys! Even SD content looks too good (SCV STB) on it.

Well, EX710 looks stunning for it price (around 80K - but you can bargain it to about 75K or slightly less, if decide to not buy it in Croma or Ezone or Sony store) - end of the day its the same TV you get!! I actually liked the Samsung C6900 series as well, but settled for the Sony b'coz C6900 was expensive by about 25K than EX710.

Try Vasanth & Co in Bangalore - my BIL is in Bangalore and is negotiating with Vasanth & Co in Bangalore. You might get a good price.

BTW, I also exchanged my old CRT for Rs.4K. So my actual damage was Rs.89,000.
