Amazon fire stick 4k or Mi Box S

I'm not sure how you are going to get 5.1 sound out of Jio STB when it doesn't support that.

Still I'll be waiting for your experience with FS and audio extractor. I also have Jio STB and perhaps this is the only negative of it.

I, too, have some doubt (not 100 pct sure whether it will work or not).

However, as per the explanation seen in one of the YouTube videos, I am not going to connect Jio STB. It will be a direct connection from Fire Stick to Audio Extractor HDMI IN and then from extractor, one connection with HDMI to TV and another one by Optical cable to Home theater.

Have you tried connecting Fire TV to TV HDMI and TV Optical out to your home theater optical In?

By doing so, I will not get 5.1 channel audio.

See my post no. 50 above, Samsung in its user manual clearly written as 'if we connect an optical cable from the TV to HT, then we will get only 2.1 audio (that's what I am getting now).

Only to get 5.1 audio, the connection has to come directly from STB to Home theater.

Received the Tobo Audio Extractor yesterday evening. Will try to connect it this afternoon and revert with the result.

It weighs only 38 grams and user manual and USB adaptor comes with the extractor.

Did all connections using the Amazon Fire Stick and Tobo Audio extractor.
Everything working, including the TV showing Dolby Digital support, but I am not getting any audio either from TV speaker or Home theater speakers. Changed all possible settings in TV as well as HT but no good.

What I did was - Connected Fire Stick to HDMI IN port of extractor, and then HDMI out of the extractor to TV and Optical cable between extractor and Home theater. - No audio.

Then I connected Jio STB to IN port of extractor and then HDMI out to TV and optical connection from extractor to HT - this works fine but only 3.1 channel audio.

What could be the problem?

This extractor was below 1k, probably not supporting 4k from fire stick.

Change display settings in fire stick to 1080p and check

Why don't you try just in case?

Audio problem solved. I just did a Fire stick reset and audio now working. It also shows Dolby Digital, but still getting only 3.1 channels (no 5.1 yet).
However, display quality and audio is now better than previous connection.

Also downloaded Jio Tv+ so no worry about viewing TV channels.

Than you need to look at your HT. Issue might be there. Try 1. swapping Front/Rear speakers 2. Reset

Thanks

Tried swapping the front/rear speakers. Previously, Front L/R speakers were not working, but rear surround L/R were working. Now connected Front L/R speakers into rear L/R jack of the HT which now works, but rear speakers connect to front R/L jack not working. So it seems some problem with front L/R speaker jack or some other parts connected to it.

Now, it is proven that all 5.1 speaker units are in working condition and looks like two input jacks of the HT are not working and not receiving signal from the speakers.

I don't think it's not worth repairing a 14-year-old system?

Reset the HT system - manual says that ''Press and hold INPUT, VOL – and
servlet.FileDownload
power simultaneously for more than 5 seconds'' or ''Disconnect the AC power cord (mains lead), and then plug it back in''. Not working, none of these methods.

There would be an option in Menu somewhere.

Since the HT receiver's speaker (Front L/R) jacks are not working, I tried to replace the Sony receiver with my new DVD player TT Target, which I knew it has 5.1 connection ports.

When I am ready to make the connection, I found that the speaker jack of Sony receiver and TT Target receiver are different. The Sony jack is in square model, whereas the TT Target comes in normal pin type cable like 3.5mm audio jack.

So, this experiment also not successful.

Is it possible to change the square plug into an ordinary 3.5mm audio cable pin?

When playing Amazon Fire Stick, some programs from Amazon Music, Amazon Prime Video takes a long time (only the circling happening, like waiting for good net speed). Is this because of these are paid apps (I did not pay for these apps so far)?

No Audio sound from TV speaker when viewing content from Fire Stick.

My connections (as already explained): Fire stick connected to HDMI IN port of Audio Extractor. Extractor HDMI out to TV and Optical to Home theater receiver. TV speaker setting fixed at 'TV Speaker'' (not external speaker). Now, I am not getting any sound from TV speaker and only the sound comes from external speakers i.e. from Home theater.

Previously, when I was using Jio STB, and with the same speaker set up, sound used to come from both TV and external speakers?

What could be the problem?

Because the audio extractor is extracting audio from the signal to the tv

Last night, I removed the Fire Stick from the extractor and connected the Jio STB and audio started coming from both the TV and external speakers. Only the problem is with Fire Stick.

However, the picture and sound quality was better in Fire Stick than Jio.
