ST50 replacement with LED or Refund??

Thanks to issues with my ST50 ( Thick VB's)and non availability of ST50 in India, Pana has offered : Refund or Replacement with LED.

Guys, whats your take? I paid arnd 60K for ST50 as this was a replacement of ST30.

Should I take money back or go for ET50?

-- What else can I buy in 60K? ET50 got crap contrast I have read.

--- ST50 was just 3-4 months.

-- Any idea if 42ST50 is available in market in NCR?

Do have a look on other models of sony/samsung as per your requirement as well like smart tv,3D tv etc.
 
That's a really tough spot you are in Nishabfss :(

Would be horrible to switch to ET5 from ST50.

ET5 has around 900:1 contrast ratio.

EX650 has about 2000:1 contrast, but is only 2D.

NX650 is unjustifiably overpriced.

ES5600 is only slightly better than ET5 and No 3D

EH6030 is probably as bad or even worse than ET5.


Why isn't Panasonic offering you UT50 ?
 
It is actually a good spot to be in.

Ask them for a UT50 plasma or equivalent replacement...

OR

Better still

Get the money back so that at least you have the option of deciding later.

Best chance is to await the release of 2013 models in India and kam chalao with an old TV (if you have one!) and buy the model you would prefer at that time. (Let the money grow in an FD in the meanwhile so that it builds up!).

Yes.It is wise to take a refund.

Take a break. Keep aside any pre-formed notions about plasma/led technologies.

Take time and test all the brands within the price range and please tell us if you could find a better/equal one to your previous one. :licklips:

I am eager to know as I am not visiting the showrooms after I got st50.
 
Don't take that risk.

Money in the hand is worth any TV in the market as you will have a choice.

But if you leave the money in their hands, they get the interest and get to dictate terms with you which is not a good thing.

So first get the refund.

Yeah, +1 to that. You never know how it will go after two months. Get the refund now!
Then, you can take your time and make an informed decision.

Was in the market for UT50. Panny Brand shop said they have the 42UT50 (65K) and "could" get a 50UT50 (72K) if I wanted one.

Is Panny really getting out of the Plasmas? Do they really have stocks of UT and ST in India/Mumbai to sell?

Yes, they are getting out of the plasmas in India according to a source from a forum moderator and all the actions of Panasonic confirm this, like no replacement plasma units for existing customers and also offering LED's for plasma replacements, its quite clear whats going to happen next.
