I think Panny has a strange service policy...My VT20 has gone bad (vertical lines)...they first offered me a ST50 ....i refused ....they took time and now have come back offering refund....I am gonna take it.....they didnt even offer GT and i didnt ask for it. Guess its time to get my money back and go for a Sammy plasma or Bravia Led.....my set didnt even reach 1000 hours before going bad..

Stock is coming in Maharashtra towards end of this month.
I am not sure but I think there might be some stock reaching Northern states as well.

I would take the refund and park it until you have had a gander at the new models that have just been released. The Sony sets are certainly licking at the plasma heels with their new LED panels. January shows them in La Vegas, and by April they have come to everywhere.
Well, going ahead with ET50 as ST50 is not available.
Also, I have just paid ~60K, so not sure what other would come in that price bracket.
ET50 was fine for HD channels and black levels factors, well is low ...

ST50 stock has landed in Chennai last week. I am talking about 50 inchers.
I am not sure about 42 inchers.
Check with RM of Panasonic for Delhi.
ET50 looked fine...ST50 has clear motion issues & IR with just an hour of usage as well....At least my set got both of these..
IR & motion issues are there in GT series too. My VT 20 has no IR but there is a slight motion blur during pan shots. May be it is to do with refresh rates or 50hz/60hz thing. Panny engineers local have no clue about it.
Result is cricket and soccer viewing is spoiled...I finally have someone who agrees with Motion issues...My set anyways got multiple bands visible on White-Black bar used for cleaning IR
Posterization is there all the time as well with solid backgrounds like Walls....
IR with just one hour of usage is hard to believe. How are just4kix (50ST50) and Audiodoc (50GT50) happy with the TV then?
Motion blur - I think there are some settings to minimize those. Perhaps owners can comment.
I have no reason to share above unless its there...Whats my gain and why would Company engineer agree with me??
In-fact, IR is so much on ESPN HD, I was watching Australian Open and lines of tennis court ( white lines) stayed on panel for over a day....

Something seriously wrong. I too watch tennis. Yes. Sometimes there is a faint trace of IR of TataSky HD logo. But that goes away and can never be seen watching movies or SD channels. I run vertical scroll bars for an hour every weekend.

Agree....as XT50 never had any such issues even with settings at 100....
I have all logos including names of movies...lol
What shocked was Tennis Court Lines....Replacement was for sure not right..
when it was delivered I had my doubts as box was full of dust ..I did not raise concern as counter of hours used was at 0. Unless they could reset it....

I have not watched any content with logos or black bars as my new set is doing the first 200 hour but tennis court lines are never static. IR is for static content like tata sky or Airtel logos, channel logos, static gaming content, static pictures. It will be virtually impossible to create IR with tennis court lines as the cameras keeps shifting view, zooming in and out, shifting to views of the crowd. Either something is very wrong with the TV or false information is being propagated.
Why is it hard to believe? Are just4kix and Audiodoc the only guys who should be
believed?

Tried every possible thing suggested by AVforums chad b to any vague link I found on internet.. Will be more happy to know from other owners. The senior expert from Panasonic was also confused with the issue and said he will check with R&D team and revert, which never happened.
The first 200 hours are very important. One needs to avoid using black bars , try watching it in Zoom1 mode. The THX settings recommended by Chad B are pretty ok but not helping on the motion blur issue. Try not to watch in Dynamic mode on new TV as it leaves more static image IR. The issue does not happen with BDP/Mediaplayer as I have an option from 50/60hz and 24p. Only with cable TV where my sports watching is completely F'd be it hd or non HD.
