I will suggest that you stay away from the 5k bdp. Import the Toshiba bdx3200kb from amazon, uk. The full import cost including shopping and duty will cost you 10k. Then make it region free via firmware update.

Is this good Toshiba BDX4300KB 3D Blu-ray Player (New for 2012): Amazon.co.uk: TV as when i opened amazon uk for bdx3200kb i got a link os suggestion as this is a new model and also a lot cheaper 80 pounds

Model 4300KB clearly says "Region Two Playback Only". So it's region B encoded and NOT Region Free.
As 'just4kix' suggested earlier, you should look for Toshiba BDX3200KB which can be made Region Free via a custom software available online.

Is there a difference in pq , depending on the source like bd player , external hard disk or pen drive ?

Does a 3d look better from bd player than if we play same file from pen drive or external hard disk ?

Original 3d bd have a frame packed 3d picture. The 3d rips and mkv's on the other hand have half resolution side by side picture. Original frame packed is definitely better.

Thanks Everyone for the inputs
Also someone suggest a good Sound Bar as I just want it to watch movies. Normally will be using TV sound only for watching SD+HD channels. My Living room in dimensions is (15ft x 15ft). Is 10k budget would be appropriate for that .?? Also BD Rips playing through USB or playing through BD Player makes a huge difference ??

If you don't care abt 3D...you can check out Sony BDP S190..it can play DTS HD MA and Dolby True HD from mkv and m2ts files via usb..I mean you can get that sound without need of a AVR...Most bluray players can't play this via usb..you need a bluray disc to playback those hd lossless audio..and it's only 6k...added advantage bluray playback is superb...also support upto 2tb harddisk drive with external power.

if your source will be BDRIPS and not the Blu Ray disks primarily I would also recommend you to go invest in some media players like Dune, Popcorn etc. which have excellent BDRIP playing capability. The investment in any of the consumer BD players will only make sense if you already have some Blu Ray Disc collection or planning to build one..

Today I tested 3D rip from usb of Toshiba BDX3200 .it played few & few didnt. The one which were played they were much better than played from Himedia 900b,even colors were better. It also plays full bluray rip from USB & AVR shows DTSMA after FW upgrade.

If I store a NON-3D Bluray movie file (in mkv format) downloaded from net and connect to TV though USB or External HDD or through HDMI from my LG Optimus 2X or through PC Input (VGA Port) will that do I mean to say will the PQ would be great in any of these possibilities ??

Please disconnect from AVR and try to play it via tv only..I mean don't pass through dts hd ma/dolby true hd..try to check if it can decode it from br player only.

not tried that, but other FM also has confirmed that poorly ripped mkv cannot be played.

Even I would like to know when the picture quality will be at its best? if playing a .mkv or .avi file via the USB port given in the TV or through a HDMI media player like Iomega ?

Unless the media player has capability to "improve" the frames, the quality will be no different. But usually it is observed that "improvements" of any kind generally degrade the quality further.

In any case the .mkv file will not be better than original BD. Only a true 1:1 rip will be equivalent in quality.

Most of 1080p encodes transfer 60-70% of bluray content..if 1080p encodes are done more 12Mbps video bit-rate without applying any external filters it will look same as bluray on your tv.
The encoder used is x264 encoder which has a very good in built motion approximation logic by which it will increase bit-rate while there is high motion/various color displayed and will reduce when static frame/dark image displayed.
Most of media players have an upper bit-rate limit i.e. maximum bit-rate it can play..if you are playing small size encodes it will be okay but playing a full bluray might cause stutter/frame skip cause in any point there is a surge in bit rate..will end up in stutter.
As most of time we are playing mkvs its better to go with a bluray player cause it gives bluray disc playability, better dvd up-scaling, better mkv playback and better media streaming.

There r forums which give untouched bd disc file of latest bollywood/hollywood movies.. so of i download them nd play through usb or mobile or through laptop or through bd player which will be better in order??

Just4Kix,

Thanks for your reply,

I have read somewhere that HDMI input provides better picture quality than USB input. But the problem I have is my Iomega screenplay Pro HD will not play mkv files but perfectly plays avi files, while the LG 47LM7600 TV plays all the formats via the USB drive.

Now when downloading movies they are available in both the avi and mkv formats, so downloading in which format will provide better picture quality.
