Suggestion for avr to go with Taga harmony tav 606 v3 5.0

Someone rightly said in other thread, one person's meat might be other person's poison so please make a considered decision. With YHT 299 AVR I have noticed substantial improvement in sound quality with Taga 506 V.2. However, other factors like room size, speaker placements etc also do come into picture which might substantially alter the SQ in two different cases. As far as combination goes, they go well along well. No doubt.

At first I planned to move to totally different AV experience which is DTS ATMOS or DTS X. For that it will take some more time bcz of the budget. But while reading in hi-fi vision, i found the capability of taga harmony with 3066. The budget is also reasonable. So that I changed my plan and want to slightly upgrade the av experience.
Dude.. Meat can be poison, to human. But in the case of AVR, if your 3066 supports taga then my 3066 too support. Room size can be the difference. But what I want is... The change of speakers should give huge difference in listening.

If you already have a sub & budget is not a constraint, then Klipsch..

If you don't have a sub, then Taga 606 SE..

Since you already have a sub, a FS is not reqd IMO.. Sub does it better than FS..

In that case you can settle for Klipsch itself..

Budget not mor then 55k. You can also suggest me another option if u have.

I have 5 Dolby atmos movies in my laptop. Approximately 20 to 30 GB per movies. For batter picture and sound quality , is it mandatory to purchase a blue rey player? Blue ray players is better than laptop because my laptop is usable to play atmos movies smoothly. Please suggest...............

Congratulations! That's a big upgrade as compared to your previous choices. It will surely satisfy you. Bluray player is certainly not mandatory at this point. You can consider it later if buying original discs, especially 4k. You can save for OPPO 4k UDP range.

My laptop is usable to play atmos movies and music smoothly. Presently I haven't 4k tv.

If your laptop is able to play the movies smoothly then no need to change. If it is not working you can go for media player box like Himedia q5/q10 pro.

You will connect this bdp to AVR by HDMI which will then decode the audio. So bdp won't have to decode it. In any case, it supports dolby true hd and dts hd, as per specs. But just don't get a bdp on recommendation of sales person. It may not add anything for you at present, as you are playing downloaded files in laptop.

I'm getting the Taga harmony tav 606 v3 5.0 speakers. Kindly suggest me an avr to go with it at around 25k price range. (movies :music - 25:75)
Also, I'm still confused about whether to buy a complete 5.1 package(yht 299) or a 5.0 mentioned above and avr for around same price. I've heard that it'll do the equivalent work of a bass of htib for now.

P.S- Don't tell me to audition multiple systems

As far as the speakers are concerned, Taga5.0 is definitely far better than satellites in yht299. No dout in that.

If you are planning for a BIC sub, then you can skip the FS and consider smaller speakers..

What about Platinum ONE Bookshelf Speakers instead of S 90 SL?

Platinum ONE doesn't have wall mount capability, which means you will need to buy a stand or keep it on TV table unit..

The S 90 SL has wall mount capability, IMO should be versatile for any speaker location (Fronts,center,surrounds)..

I use few of the Taga Platinum series, LCR 60 SL as surround in my set-up, Dual subs (SW 10v2) and Platinum ceiling speakers TCI 100R..

Taga Platinum series speakers use Metal tweeters.. From atleast what i have noticed, the highs have more presence, but not sharp..

Assuming you would pair one of these with a sub, i would pick the least expensive of the three, Taga Platinum..

Just because your are spending 2 times more doesn't mean you are getting a premium product here In India..
