Well was reading reviews of some of the bigger sets available in the market.

I checked out couple of LCD's too but 55" was small for me.Ideally wanted to go for 63" plasma but it was costing 2.4 lakhs which was beyond my budget, though the TV is awesome.

So after reviewing and checking out the TV i took the call to buy the same.

I already own a 42" Q9 Samsung plasma that has given excellent duty in last 3 and a half years and i am very happy with the performance of the set even today.

Also no other manufacture currently has a TV set that big.

So waiting now for the TV to arrive tomorrow.:)

He has an Optoma HD20 already, maybe this is for another room.

Hi all

Thanks for the wishes and responses and questions i got will try to answer a couple of them -

1. Deba as Santhosh pointed out i already have a HD 20, but i use that only for specific viewing watching good HD movies on weekend. For other regular viewing like watching TV series and other stuff i always wanted a Big TV but could never afford one. I still remember 3 years back when i bought my Q9 that time 50" was priced around 1.5 lakhs.
and i didn't have the budget to buy that one so went for 42".

2. Santhosh this TV is for the same room as the viewing distance is huge, so i am moving out the Q9 to my mom's room and replacing it with this one. Frankly speaking i wanted to go for 63" if i had the money. But can't afford it now and i was also not interested in the 3d model. The 63" was costing around 2.4 lakhs with free BD player, 3D glasses and other stuff.

Now coming to the sad part, they had only one tv left in stock in entire bangalore which was blocked for me but on physical inspection it was found to be damaged, hence i did not get the TV yesterday.

I was furious and i told the dealer that this is not expected and if he can't deliver on commitments he should cancel the order as i had already moved the tv's around in my house anticipating the arrival of this one and had sold 2 old CRT's 21" and 25" to the dealer.
He put the Samsung company guy on the phone and i blasted him telling about how the product quality and checks have been and on the forum people have complained that they got a demo or a used piece. I told him thats why i want the delivery to happen in front of me and i will inspect the set before signing off. He said as he is getting enough pieces if i am not happy with the set they would replace with a new one.

He requested me not to cancel the order saying they will compensate, also they have fresh stock of 8 pieces that has arrived in Chennai and is on its way to Bangalore today .

So hopefully the dealer would get the TV by Wednesday and then would take it from there.

So the wait still continues for the beauty to come home and i went through a big ordeal in the last 2 days of calls and phones to and from to dealer and Company. The compensation Samsung has offered me is a free vacuum cleaner along with the TV.

Will update how things go from here ... i feel in a couple of days time i would have it setup at home if all goes well.

vaccum cleaner with a TV.. thats kinda not right.. :)

Ask them for a BD player.. an extra ones never hurt...

or yea maybe a vaccum just form cleaning the AV equipments. :D

Hi All
Sorry for the slow response last week has been hectic lot of things happened and finally the TV has turned up yesterday evening. Have got it set up, will be posting some pictures but my camera is pretty old and with flash it was coming white, still i have managed to take some shots. As i am in the burn in period, Contrast, brightness everything is in low 40's and 50's , i have disabled all auto features and using the set in movie mode with low settings for the first 150 odd hours. I have not done any calibration and will only do that couple of months down the line once i cross 150 hours.

Posted pictures of NG HD where some programs was coming on snakes due to the camera there is a reflection coming on left hand side in the form of a line which is being caused by the plastic cover on the side and top panel.
