Thread for the Coffee lovers

I have a Di Longhi coffee maker, which I got as a wedding gift. Never made a single cup of coffee from it as I find it too tedious.

Prefer the Nescafe gold option as its much simpler.

@Sud98,
Any shop in India to get DeLonghi Coffeemaker? I am interested, seriously.

Another user of Nescafe Gold here! Else when I have the time it is Sidapur branded coffee from Coorg, in the basic decoction(?) filter( some 90rs). As far as tea is concerned, I start my day with a cuppa Taj Mahal/ LIpton with milk and a bit of sugar.
Have a coupla filters from CCD but never figured how to utilise it best!

Night time music listening is accompanied by a cup of Mlesna Sour sop flavored Green tea. Love the aroma, very fresh!

Tea for a true blue Hyderabadi can only be Irani Cafe chai (with
Osmania biscuits), or home made with Lasa Lamsa tea powder.

I will check. The person who had gifted it to us had a good network of suppliers (he works in procurement for a large chain). So they may not be official sellers, will check and let you know.

I am looking for a replacement filter for a 1 cup Black and Decker
coffee machine, similar to the one below. It's not a disposable
filter, but a small plastic cup with mesh.
The shop I bought it from a few years ago no longer sells the
item and says the filter is not available.
Thanks in advance :)

I swear by my 3 cupper Bialetti. That's the steam driven one. Costs all of US $ 10. When I get a chance, I bum some Jamaican or Colombian off a cousin of mine. Otherwise it's from a friend who has an estate in Coorg. 100% arabica very finely ground. Makes for a great espresso

As for tea, a good light Orange Pekoe from Sri Lanka or a half decent Darjeeling in the morning and a Twinnings Earl Grey late Sunday mornings. No milk or sugar in either beverage, of course.

Ultimately purchased a Morphy Richards Cafe Rico Filter Coffee maker from Letsbuy.com. Got delivery on COD basis within 2 days.

so much on coffee, nothing on chicory!?! surprising!

also, trust all of us know the reason behind the moniker 'mysore nuggets'? interesting info nugget! ;)

typical reason for coffee machines going kaput is the high salt, etc., content in the water used. if the water used is pre-treated (de-salted), the device will last much longer.

the stainless steel utensil shops in the south indian market in ina and lajpat nagar stock the indian filter coffee maker thingamajigs.

This is the ultimate thread. mixing hi def with coffee.
For the original poster you need to get descaler and it is an essential step to maintain coffee machines..
As for my personal experience , I am a cappuccino fan so I have 3 pump driven espresso machines.
I recently bought a Saeco semi-automatic from amazon which cost me around Rs. 7000 in Delhi.
I also have 2 super automatic.
i buy my beans from Devans in Delhi.

Thank you Neeraj,
I think one day I have to come to your place to see the 3 machines. Coffee is my passion after music and aquarium. Can you please share brief plus+minus of your three machines.
Which descaler are you using? I use 2 part water + 1 part white vineager.

good descalers are available with washing machine repair/maintenance guys, since those machines are also affected with the high salt, etc., content in tap water.

well, descalers are meant to work only on the salt adsorbed onto the metal (or rubber/seal) parts. so should not be an issue. as a matter of fact, the vinegar mix is also a good, home grown option. the aim is to make the salt soluble/softened so this comes off the metal parts.

Purchase the Audiolab 6000A Integrated Amplifier at a special offer price.
