I have a slightly different take on this. Just get the following and put it in the simplest box you can find, if you do not care about how it looks. Besides you could always change the case later on. All the DIY that would be needed on this would be to hook-up the RCA to the pre, the pre to the amp board and the amp board to the binding posts. Even the simplest electronics technician would be able to help you with this...

Thanks for your input grubyhalo. The website says "Very large supply voltage range 14-30V!! use with your TA2020 or STA508 on the same power supply!" Will it run from the same power supply? Will the pre-amp run from the same smps?

I don't know if my last question makes sense. I'm a newbie.

I'm no expert by any means or measure but I read up quite a bit on things that interest me. That said, going by the description for the items, you should be able to use the same SMPS for both the pre and the amp modules. All the best for your build!

you are correct ..
but I do care about looks people likeme ( many newbies too) the cabinet issue starts .Hooking rca switch etc to a iron box or plastic can be a rough option .consider these i some cases iron cheap boxes will be rusty,paint will peeling,manually drilled cut aluminum boxes will make amp look like school project,getting good finish is really tough.

, many of the technicians will mishandle the kit (many cases i heard people have come to me for help )

options newcomers can choose are

*buy soldering/wire/flux n supplies
*buy list by gruby ,the list is good just add a 0-24V power supply, i have tested the whole set it is excellent buy..but yup investment goes to 10k or 12 k with express shipping.
*bend Aluminum/paint old cabbie/get cabiie from VCD player,fit wood

end product :good sounding amp just looks is 3 out of 10.
C)Lowcost but time and effort:
Buy Helder MKII kit ,procure others add a linear PSU with ei core trafo.
I did this!! in <5K you have a very good amp ready running.
a)make sure you keep a regulated PSU .keeping voltage approx 12V or run from some protection device like stabilizer.
12v regulator can be made with power mosfet+LM317 :like this LM317 High Current Voltage Regulator - Electric Circuit
or ,
b)Buy 12V 3A SMPS from ebay india

It is individual choice

These are switching amps which generate internal switching frequency (similar to CPU clock) which is used for amplification along with input audio. This switching frequency is removed at the output of amplifier which leaves back amplified audio only.
This removal is done by coils and some caps at the output. Removal is perfect in toroidal coils as its magnetic field is completed within circular core. For cylindrical and air-core coils magnetic field is radiated in air, acquired by nearby PCB tracks as well as other components. Even that can go outside amp and affect sources like radio. This is RF leakage of output coils.

i am personally interested in the tp30 which is 2024 chip with a dac

Most dealers can import and give a good deal on Topping like 3k or so ,

My suspicion is that they may loose the AVR or EXPensive AMP buyers so no one is importing it even if the demand is high.

The dealers already have invested in expensive AV amps that are in stock , but the topping happily serves new audiophiles so every month they may loose say 20buyers of AVR or STEREO amps of Min MRP 15k
