I was listening to 'Another Side of Bob Dylan' and 4 set album 'Superstars of the '70s' released by Warner Bros' Superb singers and groups, super song selection and fantastic recording

Suzanne was the song that launched Leonard Cohan's musical career - it was originally sung by Judy Collins in her 1966 In my life album - fortunately I own an original UK issue of the album in superb condition. Here are some of the live versions of the of the song by LC & other artists.

Absolutely true! It is very difficult to obtain music CDs of many talented artists such as Paul Brady in India - The problem is that the international music cos. based in India hardly make an effort release the music artists who are not promoted in a big way abroad.

G401fan, agree, his folk years are awesome. Recently got lucky and found a pristine Irish pressing of his album of traditional songs with Matt Molloy and Tommy Peoples - an absolute gem.

After putting Daft Punk's Random Access Memory on repeat play these days, I won't mind picking up Chic records if anyone has them for sale:) I want to discover Nile Rodgers' disco-funk work.

Aha! so I can see it has also caught on you as it did to me.....let's explore some EDM of same caliber, if there's any. Suggestions appreciated from other members also.

Discovery by the same band qualifies as real good EDM.

Surprisingly, RAM is not so much about EDM as it is about clever fusion and crossover. At least it is not EDM in the conventional, modern way. It is a marriage of 70s and 80s funk disco, to carefully crafted live music as against electronic loops. The Robots have stepped aside to give lots of controls to their collaborators. So you end up with a lively and catchy, and undeniably divine "Lose Yourself To Dance" courtesy funk guitarist and producer Nile Rodgers and singer Pharrell Williams, falsetto voice and all. The tune is so damned catchy, you forget and forgive the schmaltzy lyrics. The biggest hit no doubt is Get Lucky (despite the decidedly cheesy lyrics), and we have Messrs Rodgers and Williams to thank, again. Daft Punk are past masters of the vocoder and one can't help but appreciate the gorgeous and sinuous voice on Inside. Machine voice laced with emotions. And not the other way round.

Giorgio by Moroder is way too lengthy. I guess it is a mini autobiography of ther hero. Also lengthy is the operatic Touch. The arrangement is at once grand, sparse, gospel-like, and soaring like the best Andrew Lloyd Webber opera.

The fuzzy voice of Julian Casablancas on Instant Crush is a mid tempo, soft rock number. Casablancas also contributes the dazzling, overdriven lead guitar solo. His voice - lightly vocodered, has a certain dreamy quality.

Hey, this is turning out to be a mini review! I'll stop here :)
