In those days very few records came in a different colour. I recall Amar Akbar Anthony was one such record which was Red in colour. Because of the colour and the fame of the movie it was one of the prized possession of the Movies dialogue writer who happened to be my neighbour.

CLPC 24

This is an undated London pressing of two old hind movies that I have on separate LPs; Anarkali and Nagin. I played my original LP after that, and it wasn't a pleasant surprise.

EALP 4021

EALP 4031

CLPC 24 was so much better than EALP 4021 that it did not seem to be the same master! The CLPC 24 sound was so open and detailed. On Jaag Darde Ishq Jaag (Hemant & Lata) there were prominent ghungharoos, that were almost totally missing from EALP 4021. EALP 4021 also has a lot of inner groove distortion not found on CLPC 24. Same was true for the Nagin LP EALP 4031.
I am worried that all the hundreds of other LPs that I have could sound so much better on a good pressing! We lost so much of our music. Neither the LPs, nor the CDs or cassettes have the pristine sound found on this British pressing :( I wish I could listen to all the old Indian LPs n this quality. The CLPC series had only one Indian release.

Remembering the great Maestro Dr. M. Balamaurali Krishna with two very early Lp records. May his soul rest in peace. His music and voice will live in this world for ever.

First STEREO LP of Dr. M.BalaMurali Krishna

Another early record.

His first with Illayaraja: Chinna kannan Azaikiran song from Kavikuyil

Was listening to below LP yesterday late night. It's a Toshiba recording on regal record and was sounding really good to me.

this was the first lp released in india. anarkali and nagin both movies from 1950s were , like other titles of the era, available on 78rpm. this lp was the beginning of lp era in india. the release year was 1969. could have been so very expensive if rare but this is a very very common lp.

They used to release first pressing in color for few titles, but that is not necessary. I have below color LPs

Jaani Dushman (Cyan)
Aashiq Hoon Baharon Ka (Multi)
Prem Bandhan (Green)
Suhaag (Pink)
Namak Halaal (Blue)
Amar Akbar Anthony (Red)
etc.

The difference between Silver and Red color Rocky is
Red: Selected Dialogues
Silver: Songs only LP

Same they had done with Johny Mera Naam
One was released for Dialogues and another one was for songs only.
Rocky and Johny Mera Naam, both were released by Polydor.

Purab aur Pachhim 2 LP set with Double fold was First Pressing, and had additional songs
>Love Me (Usha Iyer)
>Hare Rama Hare Krishna (MK)
>Title Music
> Om Jai Jagdish Hare (2 versions)

Single LP album had 8 songs, Double LP album had 12 songs

The one I saw had red colour with same motor cycle picture.

Another dilemma is with SOUND OF MUSIC. This time got one of coronet HIFi and the songs and music is bit different from the movie. Any idea how many editions was there?

I guess you are talking about 'The Music of xxx' series, which was released for background music only. No Songs, No Dialogues. Same was released for
Shaan
Rocky
Naseeb
Qurbani
etc.

Remember, these are not songs instrumental. These are the background music which was used in scenes in the movie.

^ This above version was released in US in 1960's (I guess).

Same title was released by many companies in US

Coronet Records
Celebrity Records
Premier Albums, Inc.
Spin-O-Rama
