Is the record then a 6 eye? This is the Brubeck vinyl I referred to in my post above.

I understand that to be how 6-eye Columbia's look but I thought you had an Analogue Production's reissue (45 rpm)?

Here's a good site for this info - Columbia Labels

Yes I do have the reissue, by the great Bernie Grundman. Since it has the six ovals (see the pic), I enquired off G401fan if this is the desirable 6 eye? If so I am in luck. In any case the music by the Quartet and the SQ is superb.

The Analogue Productions reissue seems to have used the original label design (6-eye), no doubt under license from Columbia Records. This is purely to make it look as authentic as possible, which explains the front and back cover being identical to the original.

So, no, Issigonis, you don't have an original 6-eye, but your AP record most likely sounds pretty darn close, especially if they've used the original master tape.

Coincidence Anil Sir , I too am listening to Don Williams :) - Greatest Hits Volume One though.

Excellent album. One of my favorites. On the same line another one from the duo, Raga Rageshweri, Sohni & Mishra Tilang. A studio album with great SQ.

BTW Zakir Hussain's hairstyle is interesting.

Hi

I am new to this side of the forum. I have a Philips turn-table which is my father bought in late 70's. Though the system works, there is no output noise. I need to get this serviced as I dont want to lose this piece.

I am in Chennai. So I would appreciate if someone can help me to find a good and trustworthy service person/company.

Regards

Bandhe Hath LP is with heavy shellac and sounds just great. This has become very pricey now a days too. Songs are superb especially 'O Majhi O Majhi' and 'Kya Jano Main Hoon Kaun'. Even if Bandhe Hath EP is rarely available now.

Moanin

An original pressing of an album that I would take with me to a desert island. Have spun this all weekend long! Life is good :)
