What do you ride?

When I ride for fun, its Schwinn frontier sport hard tail or LA Sovereign Navigator 2006. Mind you, both are bicycles.:D

When it is routine household duty in crowded city of Panjim,it is my humble kawasaki 115 hoodibaba! Each time i plan to buy enfield, i ask myself why not to spend those 1.2 lacs on better speakers and amp and then both the plans fizzle away :(

Hi,

You are most welcome. It will have to be by prior appointment as I am in Allahabad while most of the bikes are in Dehradun.

Regards.

Hi all,

I am riding a Bajaj Discover-125 for the past 6 months. Had TVS Samurai & Victor prior to this one.

2000-2005 - Yamaha RX100
2005 - Till Now - Yamaha RX135 -5 speed

In 2005 when I got my first job I scouted in my home town and its surroundings and bought three RD 350's ranging between 5k INR and 15k INR each in a span of 6 months. Restored one to stock and kept the rest for other projects and in between collected many parts from across the world to backup these for years.
In 2008 when I went to US for a few months trip I brought down an RD400 engine to make a cafe race project from one of the remaining RD's.
When I planned to move to UK in 2009 I sold my RD and had to pass on the projects to my buddies.

When I moved to UK the two wheeler hobby took a back seat. But I keep helping my friends in sourcing parts for their BSA Goldstar DBD34's and Norton Dominator 650 SS bikes along with the Yamaha two stroke twins.

Now I have an RX 135 5 speed to ride along with few parts to back it up for few more years :D

please post pictures of your rides.

Yeah. Seems like everybody else is pretty one dimensional. Come on guys, I thought that people would be keen to share their rides a little more enthusiastically.

Whoops. My bad. Some great machines there. Every ride is a great ride. Respect for another biker is always paramount no matter what he rides.

Kittu, will try to put my bikes pics up soon.

Hi Yezdian,

I bought my Yezdi Roadking in 1983 for the then princely sum of Rs. 13,500, after paying the amount in full to the dealer and waiting for more than two weeks to take delivery. At that time the customer could have any colour he wanted as long as it was black (shades of Henry Ford and his Model T car). The dark green colour available on the Jawa had vanished earlier and metallic silver was yet to appear on the scene.

I used to go for early morning rides in the cantonment in white tennis kit, getting salutes from the sentries who took me for an enthusiastic young subaltern. It was great fun watching the needle go up to 100 kmph on a new bike that was still being run in.

The fuel consumption was daunting, even with petrol being much cheaper than it is today. It was more of a sportster than a commuter bike. The fuel efficient Japanese bikes slowly drove it out of the market in an era of rising petrol prices. Old Jawas are now sought after bikes but old Yezdis are rusting away and getting scrapped. What an inglorious end to a once proud name.

Regards.
