What do you ride?

The red one is a Jawa 634 350cc twin mounted on a regular Jawa format. The bottle green one is my current daily ride. Jawa 353 250cc single. The Jawa 354 350cc twin is in the works. Should be out soon. More of that later. I also had a Jawa 579 250cc single dual plug head ISDT / Motocross (enclosed pic with racing number plate # 49 is just for reference), though mine was quite similar. That was a real beauty. Unfortunately I had to sell the 634 and 579.

Chevrolet Cruze LT (manual) since last 1 year and a Honda Activa scooter since 6 years.!

You have some passion for these vintage beauties Finyl Vinyl, thank you for sharing the pics.

Capitano, nearing the end of my patience. I can't put up with temperamental bikes and women at the same time these days. Call it advancing age!

I'm at a stage where I want technology work for me and not the other way around. A nice TT once set up properly stays that way. Unlike these machines. I intend to hold on to the 353 and 354 and use a Yezdi model B engine as a spare donor for the 353.

Well, my biking journey is long, started my life with the ambition of racing and got influenced by unwanted elements, ended up with road racing circuits in the 90s, meet with a horrible accident that put me in coma for 10 days and made me loose 1 yr of my life with a 50:50 chance of walking. I learnt and started riding for the journey than the destination. I think thats the shortest I can summarize. Here is the list:

BIKES:
Past:
1. TVS 50 XL - Dad's but always ridden by me
2. Bajaj Sunny - Bought with my own money selling stuff and others
3. Hero Puch - Bought after selling Sunny with loan from Dad
4. Yamaha Rajdoot RD350HT - Bought after working hardddddd during school days - totally souped up for street racing. Dad sold it for 2000rs (yes you heard it right) when I was in hospital
5. Jawa 350 CC - An impulse buy and sold it like an idiot without knowing its value
6. Yamaha rajdoot RD350HT - Bought in crap condition and brough it back to showroom condition and to US RD specs. Sold it recently to help a friend's medical condition. (I will miss the rocket forever)

Current:
Royal Enfield Machismo - Still have it and my daily ride

4 WHEELERS:
Past
Santro - Sold

Current:
Jeep - This is an amalgamated vehicle with a CJ3B body, Bolero engine, MM540 gear box, Tata Sierra power Steering, Bolero Disk Breakes, etc etc
Honda Civic Automatic

International:
Ireland -
Honda Shadow VT750C

US of A -
Harley IronMan,
Buell X1 Lightning (not owned but had it for 3 months)
Pontiac Firebird - 4th generation

Will try to post some pics soon

Precisely the reason why I sold my RD350.

Whoa, I started my biking with the same bike. I must dig out the pics for posting it here.

Interesting thread..I had a Rajdoot 175 in the 1970s and early 80s before moving on to 4 wheels. Great bike, must have clocked around 50K or more on it. My younger son who lives in San Franscisco now rides a bike( as in $700 bicycle).

Hi George,

I have just bought a used Rajdoot 175 in black colour for use on my family's agricultural farm. I like its Earle's type front suspension (remeniscent of earlier BMWs and Douglases, both horizontally opposed "boxer" twins). The acceleration and fuel consumption are remarkable for a bike of its age.

Regards.

Hi all,

I am planning to restore an Excelsior two-stroke motorcycle with hand gear change and a Corgi folding scooter. Does anyone know of someone who owns any of the two. I need access to these models to copy some parts which are missing in my lot.

Regards.

Have you ever seen a macho man sporting a "Tiger Lipton Chai" hero moustache (with looks that can tame a tigress) riding a stupid ladies scooter - A Honda Pleasure ? :D
er .. No ... No dotted stickers (for extra pleasure), on this one ;)

Ummm.. that would be me doing my grocery shopping :o  ... :indifferent14:

I bought it after a stroke of inspiration from the TV Ad featuring ShahRukh and the "Silly Village Girl" ... was hoping to meet one :licklips:

Dreaming ... about a poor village farm girl who spots me in the crowd with my grocery bags on the footboard, and sez "I want that one" ( and marries me for the scooter :ohyeah:) ... to graduate from plucking berries and milking cows to visiting swanky shopping malls in the city... :licklips: ...

Sighhh! Its now 5 years later, and I am still single and unmarried

Yours Lonely and Sadly

you wouldn't happen to be Mr. Lonely driving around Bangalore in a white Tata Safari proclaiming his singlehood to all and sundry one hopes. Get a nice old bike. reminds the young girls of their fathers bikes and they soon want to be taking rides on them with you. :yahoo::yahoo::clapping::ohyeah: "cut to Moods ad"

I used to own a Yezdi 250 Classic in the late 80's,90's. I stuck the "Yezdi" label upside down and it used to read as "ipzah". Some people used to ask me whether it is a new model from the Ideal Jawa stable. :) When I sold the bike in 1994, I was almost in tears.

Then the bike era was over. :( Got married and had to settle for Kinetic Honda because it was ideal for wife also. Now have a Honda Activa (what else)?

But scooter is for short distances only. To office I usually ride take turns between Honda Civic and Hyuindai Santro.

I never purchased a two wheeler, except for cycles that I rode during school and engineering days. Always wanted/ still wanting to buy one. Had enfield bullet ~1975 model on rent for few months and really loved it.

Agree to Finyl Vinyl - want the technology to work for me and not the other way round. Still dream about buying an enfield. Not that I can't afford it. Just because I live in NCR.
