Omega, IMO has still retained the aura alongwith Rolex. Rolex, I am not too sure, though.

good watches are ridiculously priced here .

in 5- 6k you have very crappy units , no well known Japanese MOVT.
some CASIO plastic (This GShock is a high end fake hugely mad in Bangkok)
items , i know a fren who imports these in 1.7K and sells for 4.

hence i went import route.


Last time i been to store the shop keeper said "sir there is no well known imported watch in < 10K " i said i am wearing my Genuine SEIKO chrono Tachymeter watch imported from singapore . That was in 6.
It costed 65% less than the MRP marked on most models there .

Presently using the Citizen Eco Drive, gift from my dad.
Prior to that, the watches that I have used are:

1) HMT hand wound watch (from class X-XII).
2) A few casio watches (Were a rage during college times).
3) One Seiko automatic which was gifted by my grandfather (Got stolen in the gulf).
4) 2 Timestar watches (self gifted for me and my wife for our marriage).
5) Lots of Japanese watches in between.

Even though mobiles are there to see the time, nothing to beat the discrete sense of seeing the time through a wrist watch.
