Which 55" LED 3D Tv to buy .?

Hi,

I'm planning to buy a 55" 3D LED TV this diwali .

Budget is 1.6 lacs .

I have shortlisted Samsung 55D6600WM , Sony 55EX720 & LG 55LW6500

I like to have a gloss screen and monolithic design but seems like there are no monolithic choices for 55" in my budget .

I saw Sony EX720 and disliked it coz of matte screen .
Also Saw LG passive 3D technology and was amazed .

So which TV should i go for .??

I could not find The sammy D6600 in my city , Is it a gloss screen .??

if you guys are willing to spend so much money. why not buy a good quality projector and 120inch screen. any TV can never substitute big screen projector experience.

True dat!!!
I myself after researching many high end TVs decided I would be better off buying a decent samsung 43" plasma for day to day use & a nice projector with a 120-150" screen as a HT setup... Even this setup costs a bit less than that the amt I had in mind for a good 55" led tv(2 lacs approx)... Much better vfm & PQ if u can set it up properly...

I have been a hard core Samsung fan but their 3D aint any good. I recently bought LW6500. Even though the apps are inferior to Samsung, their 3D is awesome. Also the USb plays all formats of movies including the the ripped 3d SBS movies. Picture quality is pretty good. And the matte screen does'nt matter once you start watching.

Do the ripped mkv movies work on Samsung .?? :indifferent14:

Ripped mkv work fine on a samsung tv (even the ones with very high bit rates, i have even tried 3d sbs mkvs with more than 20Mbps bit rate and they all work fine). its codec support is best among most brands and it also supports ntfs formatted hard disks.

Can you try a particular type a particular type of rip i.e scOrp mkv rips for movies .?

Actually i was a bit worried coz scOrp Rips use

Video codec : MPEG4 ISO advanced
Audio codec : AAC HE

As shown in the Samsung USB 2.0 FAQ :

Video codec is supported (H.264 )

But Audio codec AAC HE is not shown as support under mkv .

So i thought audio won't work .

Are you sure audio also works gr8 for scOrp rips.??
And have you ever checked the video nd audio codecs for any of the scOrp Rips that you have .??

Where do you get scorp 3d sbs rips? i have not come across that. pls provide the link. And aac, ac3 etc work fine on samsung. btw i have samsung 51inch 3d plasma. But that has the same video processor as samsung led tv's and it works fine

I downloaded a movie way back that was 3D SBS , but haven't dwnld'ed any ever since ...

Can you please tell me some scOrp mkv rip (even 1 ) that you have played on your Samsung plasma .?

coz earlier scOrp rips used different audio codec , & now they use AAC HE .
