Shuv - out from the left field here : For 1.5L how about a HD projector if you have the space .. You can get any screen size you want.

If its a non plasma - cant beat the Sony W 9 series. How about the 46inc W950 ? You save 30k too

I was planning to buy a plasma (50ST60), and since it is not available yet and my doubts about plasma's IR, service in India etc, just looking around, and I came across this forum and also recently read this blog

And some how feel that I should now wait and get a good projector.

I have a 6 year old 21" SONY CRT Trinitron, which is still very good for all my SD viewing, I am no gamer, but watch a lot of HD movies (1080p BR Rips).
Currently, bought a media player (cubetek) and watching them on this CRT :sad: Sadly, the Sony TV I use has no audio output ports at all.

So I was thinking if a projector would be a better option, considering this would be in my bedroom, and just as 'Shuv' mentioned CRT would be fine for my living room.

Do you have any suggestions on HD projectors ?
1.5 would be too much, I can go till 1 lakh.

Also I read that DLP is better than LED for PQ in projectors.
Worried about the lamp life etc for projectors, I am planning this for long term.

I have bought LG 55LA6200 last week. Costed Rs 1.25 lac. looks good on features and PQ.
