Hello friends,
i hv recently bought a 42x30 with the help of suggestions made by fellow hifivision members :clapping:... i hv connected my old pc through vga... it works just fine..
Now i want to know which kind of HDMI cable should i opt for .. i have android HTC wildfire phone, sony PSP 2000 model,so m confused... which will be a compatible HDMI cable to connect these with the Plasma 42x30..

it would be great if f you guys can guide me on this :o

Even an unbranded cable would do the job, but you can look at Belkin, Bandridge, Profigold etc. available in most electronic showrooms

so, all i have to do is ask for a regular HDMI cable at the shop... not anything specific?? or are there any model no.s or any other sort?? i m really unaware about this concept.. so pls guide..
do all HDMI cables work the same and will they connect all my devices mentioned above??

I got an audio chord to connect my PC's audio with the plasma for 40rs and it worked great.. so.. will the cheap HDMI chords work fine??

Any hdmi cable will work dude. Simply go to some computer shop and ask for hdmi cable and dont buy anything costlier than 200-250 rs for 1.5m. If he shows you some branded costly ones dont buy them as all of the cables work the same unless you go for more than 10-15m.

Any short HDMI will work. Upto 1.5m, brand of the cable does not matter. Preferably use one which has a solid cylindrical thingy near both ends (ferrite beads) - that helps prevent interference of signals (both EMI and RFI) if you run many cables close together.

To connect various devices, you will want to check what kind of HDMI connector they have. For eg if they have a micro-HDMI connector, you will have to get a HDMI cable with micro connector on one end.

Guys, he wants to buy a cable to connect his wildfire and sony PSP. I don't think any HDMI cable will work in that case.

@OP

The pin that goes into the TV is an HDMI interface, but you would need a special cable in which one end will go to the TV and the other end to PSP.

If you are connecting a blu ray player or XBOX, you can use a regular cable like others suggested.

Will any cable work for ARC function? I am not getting signal with my present unbranded cable.

htc wildfire is a very basic android phone, it doesnt have any HDMI connection option

one way is using a DLNA to stream music, photos, videos from ur wildfire to TV, but for that ur TV needs to be connected to your home network either wifi or wired and ur wildfire through wifi and your TV should be dlna compliant, wildfire is dlna compliant.

may I ask, what is your purpose of connecting the wildfire to ur TV ?

@ saj2001ind
Thanks...
my TV is dlna compliant and i also have a wifi connection. so .. i guess that should solve the problem.. and i wont need any HDMI. Right??
but do i need any special app for that?? how do i sync it with the TV?
the purpose of connecting is viewing clips and pics and if possible, streaming youtube :)

first of all connect both TV and ur wildfire using ur home wifi network, once done then on ur wildfire open gallery, open any picture or video, then press menu and press select player -> a small box will open there u will see ur TV listed, now select that and press OK, now your pic or video will wirelessly start playing on ur TV

now for music -> open htc music player on ur wildfire -> goto menu -> press select player -> same way select TV from meny and ur music will wirelessly play on ur TV

youtube will not be able to get streamed from ur phone to TV, for that ur TV should have youtube app, check ur manual or in menu on ur TV, once connected to ur home network and internet, use the youtube app in ur TV and play youtube

hope that helps, write back if you face any issue just make sure you connect TV and ur wildfire properly to ur home wifi network and ur wifi network should be connected to internet.

thanks for that.. sounds simple.. will try it soon and let u know :)

on the youtube part... my TV doesnt support that - 42X30 is just an entry level plasma. so no youtube app :(

i guess .. an HDMI would help here.

cooldeep_10, buy a hd media player with networking like the himedia hd600 so that you can access youtube and other streaming websites.
