wired my tv and switched on the WiFi on my mobile too.
the mobile doesn't show any other option for playing any of the media files
downloaded an app to from the android market - imediashare - its for the same purpose.. playing your mobile files on ur Tv via DLNA..
the app doesn't detect my tv... I know it has DLNA bcoz its mentioned in the box and I hv used shoutcast nd Facebook on my tv nd they worked just fine

okay u need to do some troubleshooting, just switching on the wifi on mobile wont do, u have to pair it up with ur wifi network to connect it properly with the password if any on ur wifi network

1) after connecting the wildfire to ur wifi network, r u able to browse internet on ur mobile ?
2) same with tv, after connecting to wifi are u able to browse anything on ur TV ?
3) on ur TV check the setting to enable DLNA server or setting on (only doing this will ur wildfire see ur TV else it will not) - <this step is very imp>
4) once the above 3 passes, then open gallery on ur wildfire, open any picture, press menu, there u should get select player option, click that then u should see ur TV, select that TV and steream will start

u wont neet imediashare app, HTC has built in decent way of doing DLNA
