Which Plasma? Panasonic ST30 or Samsung E550? - A final Call.

Secondly, is stabilizer essential? or any other better option like good surge protector or other device or component?

Not sure because it has "Triple Protector" which ensures protection against electrical surges and lightning as well as humidity.

even i am looking to buy among the these two.thats a steal i guess.pls give the name and number of the dealer.

You should get similar deals from any local TV shop(not big retail showroom) in your area(?). You will not get such deals over phone.

Can you give your inputs on, how is it in a well lit a room ?
I was demoed tv in showroom, but I was not able to figure out how the reflections are in natural light.

can you please post the pics.
I am waiting on your inputs to make a decision.

Yes, I have already stated in my earlier postings that I will explain my experience only after Friday as I won't get time during week days.

Please wait for some, I waited nearly two months to take take this decision.

I called all brand shops of Pune but nobody have stock or even pricing information. One at MG road told me that new stock will come when 2011 stock is exhausted. But when asked I asked them about 50ST30 stock and price they said it is not available. They have only 42ST30 at about 60K.

Any guesses about the pricing of 42ST50?

I never spared this much time in serious things also. I don't know what is happening with me.:o

My Never Ending Story: Not find any review of Panasonic TH-L42DT50D or TH-L47DT50D. Anyone saw this? Yeah I know it is LED,

hello silkograph,
i did call up one of the panna stores in Mumbai (Crawford Market) for price of 42ST50 . It was 95000 with two 3D Glasses... They said the prices will only come down during diwali...

Waiting is over for me.
I am glad that finally, much awaited flat TV, Plasma arrived at my residence yesterday.

My impression is good if not the best. For that I can say only -This is the best value for money gadget. Do not compare it with Sharp Elite or other high end Panasonic models. Look at the price, I never thought I will have this 51 incher in my control.

First let me tell you, I do not have any true Full HD source. I just have 1 or 2 minutes demo clips but those are seen best on this TV.

I have snaps taken on my mid-range Motorola XT502 mobile I will post more pics once everything is set-right.

Yes, in 4:3 mode, gray patches are coming. I don't know if I can change colour of that empty area. If I can, I will keep that black but I know it will act like a mirror in day light.

for god sake get rid of that sidebars or you will burn it in switch to 16:9 mode. the sd image will look streched but it will prevent burn in

Oh, Thanks, I will change the mode.

But still we have to take care of burn-in problem, even in 2012 models? I saw there is an option in the menu for burn-in protection. I will check that out today evening.

Gray patches might be coming because of burn protection function "Side Grey". Please refer your manual.

Here are few quotes from the user manual:

Do not watch in 4:3 format for a long time. Traces of borders displayed on the left, right and centre of the screen may cause image retention(screen burn) which is not covered
by the warranty.

Burn protection functions:
Pixel Shift, Auto Protection Time, Scrolling,

Side Grey: When you watch TV with the screen ratio set to 4:3, using the Side Grey function can prevent damage to the edges of the screen by adjusting the white balance on the extreme left and
right sides.

i guess, may be when in side grey, they keep the pixels in that area dancing (i mean changing colours), so that may prevent burn in..still better not to do in initial hours.. same true for 16:9 programming in 4:3 channels
