Why I despise Wharfedale

Hi Pradski,
I am sorry to hear about your 9.2's. Even as I state that I've been a fanboy of 9.2, I am not exaggerating to say that they can take kind of abuse very few bookshelves of "their size" can. This is purely because they can be driven pretty low, i've heard it delivering 35Hz sine wave test tone. Comparative models of other brands will breath last at 55Hz.

Then again, every speaker has limits, and probably your amp drove it beyond 9.2 limit. My advice to you (and party-animals out there) is listen to the difference in tone of speaker as you are driving the volume up. If you notice that bass balance is reducing (compared to treble) with higher volume, then it's time to stop the volume level right there. This way you will always play your speaker within safe limits.

Regds,

get ur math right dude, he can only make a chaddi with that much of kevlar:lol:

Enough to protect ones most vital assets! :clapping:

You are a genius..! :ohyeah:

One can even make it rear ported for more bass effect... a boom when standing against the wall ... :D

I had bi amp ed when they were new for a short while.

I wrote to wharfedale in uk about these issues. I got no reply.
Then I wrote to Vector in their website, as I had bought from them. I got no reply.

Yes the gluing did not work in 9.2.
I still have to try on the 9.6.
Any suggestion for the glue.

Thank you all.

there is a fevicol product for rubber etc (is it sr99?) that you can try. you have to apply it, let it dry and then stick the two surfaces, apply light pressure on the joint for some time and it should stick.

or else you can remove the woofer and take it to some speaker repair guy. you might have to unsolder the cable though.
