I think xtreamer/ xtreamer pro or etrayz shall be fine - but I have no idea about downloading rips and playing. In fact I am not even able to use my subscription of seventymm in last few months!

hi friends,
has anybody ordered Xtreamer Pro lately, Mr Sumit of Xtreamer India initially told there r delays regarding shipment arrival and delivery.
so has anybody who pre ordered / ordered been able to get it by now? if yes how many days did it take?any chance of getting it in a week from the day i order it?
i want to buy a Xtreamer Pro too !
any suggestions/info will b appreciated

a question about hirez - I played this http://download.linnrecords.com/test/flac/recit24bit.aspx file on xtreamer going to my dac, which at least on specs is 24/192 capable. I did hear music. However, how to ensure it is played in full high rez glory and not downsampled?

I would just like to know whether MK1 will have HD audio passthrough anytime in future? Will be getting an hi-definition audio system in a year or so.. Will i be able to enjoy HD audio passthrough at that time?
1 thing i cant understand is that both MK1 and pro got the same chipset(technically), pro supports HD audio passthrough but MK1 does't... Can any1 enlighten me with regards to this?

MK1 will not have 7.1 passthrough due to licensing issue with RealTek chipset.

MK1 and pro do not share the same chipset. The pro and side winder models
have the same chipset which is slightly different from the one on MK1.

If you do not want the pro, you can opt for the xtreamer 2010 side winder model which has the same chipset as in pro and will support 7.1 audio pass through.

i am an old uer of the xtreamer got one last year, i do see lot of push happening for the new models, but one should look back and think for a moment how much 7.1 content we have out there that is easily available and whether it is worth for a mass upgrade just for the same.

Old users can install the sidewinder and enjoy the same at additional cost, which may be a good deal.

That's my 2 cents on the same.

i have 2009 xtreamer 2.5 .. i recently installed sidewinder kit .. after the installation the HD videos wouldn't just play ! i was getting some weird I/O error .. so i decided to reinstall my firmware.. and during the install it just hung..

waited for 30 mins.. nothing happened

i pulled the plug and after i switch it on.. i just see the big RED X ..

so my xtreamer is bricked now..

i tried to install the emergency firmware.. but i'm not able to install it ..
i followed the instructions to the T . but all i see is the big RED X.

anybody here has installed emergency firmware ?

hope this helps.

Ps - it's possible that you xtreamer overheated and shut down.. hence the firmware flash failure. you may wish to reconnect the fan and flash the emergency firmware while the xtreamer in on UPS.

There are many options for resolution and frame rate.
If I select HDMI auto, I always get 1080p@24 did not like this setting for many DVD rips and 720p rips though it works great for 1080p rips..
my TV is HD ready plasma..

You can change the brightness/contrast/hue/saturation depending upon your personal preferences. I typically find the default picture quality a bit washed out compared to my PS3.

Select 1080p@60Hz. Then 24p won't be default. Even I get some oddities on low bit-rate files when 24p is enabled along with 100Hz on the TV. With higher bit-rate files, its all good. In cases when I find judder, I simply disable 100Hz on the TV and all is ok.

I hAVE started using the Xtreamer with the pen drive, now I wanted to connect the xtreamer to the PC as you said. Can you tell how to configure on both ends.
I already have configured the ethernet card for SIFY Broadband which is inbuilt in the motherboard, i'm having a spare PCI ethernet card, I installed this card and i'm not able to configure it as there are lot of confusion regarding default gateway, shared hard disk etc.
