ok - finally got the projector ceiling mounted and screen installed. Now I am ready to bring out the xtreamer and upgrade the FW to see what it is worth now.
I have 1.0.3.1 installed as of now. Can I directly upgrade to 2.0.2 or do I have to go through 2.0 etc?

Any other heads-up on how to get the internet radio working?

ok, the fw upgrade went smooth. There was no power failure luckily as I do not have a working UPS these days.
Played some internet radio stations. For now it looks cool. Only if I could control it without turning my projector on. I have a wifi blackberry but it is no use as I can not browse files and request a file to be played from browser.
Will explore more and post my comments.

Hi..anm try Mavvys files they are good and i also found some nice Desi /Hindi radios on Xtreamer fourm guess you will enjoy them.

hi anm...to be honest have not tryed much of radio on XMP (what ever little i tryed was good) becuz of lack of display...dont want to use my Plasma/Pj for radio..I use a squeezebox for Internet Radio & streaming from my PC Squeezebox has on board DAC which gives me awesome experience for my music. .

yes squeezebox has everything except playing from local hdd. I am not willing to have another machine running just to play music from hdd. Squeezebox touch is such a product but surprisingly it is not yet being delivered, even though it appeared in amazon in sept iirc. I got impatient and purchased xtreamer.

Currently there isn't a way you can search for stations. But Mavvy's has a done a great job by organizing the stations according to genres in folders

Bought my Xtreamer media player with their site on 29th of last month, still the status is showing "Ready for shipping", normally how much time they takes to ship the consignment?
Offer for etrayz is also closed dont know whether its going to come again for old customers or not as wanted to buy that also for my storage solution as well as DL center.

Just checked on the xtreamer site, new firmware is going to come out shortly, hoping for some improvements with the same.

Also did any of the members receive the E-Trayz, do give us a review and feedback of the same

Saw in their forum that now they are not going to offer eTrayz for 59 euros for existing customers, hope again it will be marketing gimmicks and offer comes back as Christmas offer, need NAS solution for my movie collection, wireless media transmission and downloads.

noking...did you had to pay customs ? I am planning to get the xtreamer from their website...as wondering if customs will be levied on it(for baggage, limit is 30K) and this falls much below the 30K limit(thou it cannot be categorised as baggage).

Well I am greedy for both . Its a double jeopardy ! I currently watch HD movies and stuff on my tiny 19" monitor (1440x900) and planning to get a 37" sammy LCD (unfortunately tat is what will fit on the TV pedestal - typical Mumbai space contraints). So I plan to get the xtreamer first and use my PC as a storage device till I can save efuff moolah for the e-trayz. Buying both at this time will be too much for my budget given that I am slo saving for the LCD. Once I lay my hands on a both Xtreame and the e-Trayz guess I will be a happy man.

I am slightly out of touch. I purchased my xtreamer in oct from Indian dealer. Am I still eligible for the 59 euro deal on etrayz? Is there a timeline to order etrayz to get the discounted rate?

Yes there was time line till 30th November to buy eTrayz at that special price of 59euros + 25 euro for shipping but now if you want to buy then its gonna cost you 99 euros + 25 euros shipping.

Got my player and even after it was marked as sample customs guys charged 1375 duty so almost paid around 10K.

Last night I upgraded the firmware to ver 2.1 and after this firmware following features are added (taken from Xtreamer Website): sadly still no support for HD audio.

What's new in 2.1 version:

1. Favorite in Home menu.

- Needs Restore Defaults in setup menu.

- Add your favorite contents from HDD (Internal/External) to Favorite

- By pressing Func(8) key from Remote Control select Add to Favorite

- To remove from Favorite press Func(8) key and select Delete from Favorite from Favorite menu.

- Folders and files are displayed from All menu only, Music/Photo/Video menu only shows respective files not folders

2. Network shares (samba/NFS) auto scan.

- Accessible from Media Library->Network Shares menu.

- NFS Shortcut replaced by Network Shares

- NFS Client option also remover from Xtreamer Web UI Setup menu

- To reload list of share folders press 1 key

3. eTrayz auto search and mount.

- eTrayz can be auto searched and mounted from media library.

- Only one eTrayz device supported for auto mount now.

4. Estonian language support.

- Estonian language support for OSD and subtitle.

5. Not pirated DVD with CSS support.

6. Users font(ttf) support for subtitles only

- Subtitle font can be change from Setup->Playback->User Subtitle Font

- Font file should be in internal HDD(first partition) or USB HDD(first partition) in user_font folder.

7. Subtitles on/off option

- Subtitle can be turn on/off from Setup->Playback->Subtitle Default

- Factory default in subtitle on

8. Subtitles border thickness can be changed

- During movie playback, press subtitles button from remote control and select thickness

- Thickness option is next to size option.

9. USB DVD AutoRun

- From Setup->Playback->DVD AutoRun on/off option can be selected

10. Unzip and Archive option from Xtreamer web UI

- From Xtreamer web UI .zip, .tar, .tar.bz2 type files can be unzipped

- Just click unzip icon located next to file name, select target dir and press unzip button

- So user can upload more than 10 files at a time as a zip file

- Select File Manager->Archive option and choose folder to make archive(tar)

- Folder can be downloaded at a time instead of downloading files one by one

11. Workgroup option

- User can change their workgroup from Xtreamer Web UI Setup->Workgroup/Hostname

- Under this workgroup they will find their Xtreamer samba share

- Samba share name change from samba 3.0.23c to xtreamers hostname..

12. HDMI chroma Sub-sampling set

- Can be selected from Setup->A/V->HDMI chroma Sub-sampling set

- Auto option will auto select one of YCbCr422 and YCbCr 444.

- On means YCbCr 422 (if supported).

- If Xtreamer connect to DVI, output is RGB444



Improvements:

13. Photo preview UI improved

14. Movie preview UI improved.

Bug Fixes:

16. Kerning (black line between letters) from Arabic subtitle removed and space between some Arabic character removed.

17. During movie playback, after pressing Stop button it went to All menu from Movie menu.

18. ODD (audio & data disc) detection.

19. Playback OGG with CoverArt.

- Not display tag information and cover art.

20. Smooth Fast Forward

21. User cannot upload files from Xtreamer Web UI to USB (if dont have internal HDD)

22. Mac users cant upload file to Xtreamer samba share.

23. 503 upload error during file upload from Xtreamer web UI

24. File cant be uploaded to folder containing multi-byte character(Korean/Chinese/Japanese) in folder name

25. FTP file uploaded error 530 server busy

- If this symptom found, Restore Default will be needed.

26. Cant write ext3 file system

27. Korean missing character in subtitle
