I hope the rumours that the fully remastered Beatles catalogue will be released this year are true. It would be good to finally be able to buy their music on CD (which has been a letdown consistently so far).

The Nutcracker is a must-have if you're a classical buff. I like the Kirov Orchestra version conducted by Gergiev better than a few others I've heard...

Good edgy jazz record with amazing virtuosity from all the band members. It has a slightly raw musical progression (for a lack of a better description) than the more popular types of jazz but still enjoyable once you get 'into' the music. Having a good sound system really helps with records like this one...

An absolute classic from one of the masters, this is probably the best Jazz album I own. The track 'Take Five', though I have heard a few hundred times, blows me away every single time it comes on. This would be one of the first LP's I'd buy when I finally manage to get a good TT. Do yourself a favor and buy this album, you won't regret it. Even if you don't like Jazz...

Mark Knopfler is great as always, just very mellow and very, very soft. Unlike anything you've heard from Mark Knopfler or Dire Straits.

Might not be the purist's cup of tea, but great music. Very energetic and will make you want to shake a leg. Guitar work is in a league of its own.

Another favorite Brazilian star of mine (no, not much of a football fan myself). The guitaring is absolutely stunning, amazing finger work.
